6. NHAI is looking to monetize highways that have completed at least two years of operation and have a steady flow of traffic.

7. The revenue generated from the monetization of highways will be used to fund new infrastructure projects and reduce the government's debt burden.

• Adani Group is a big company in India that received a lot of money from outside the country. This is called foreign direct investment (FDI).

• Last year, Adani got 6% of all the FDI coming into India. They got $2.5 billion in total, with nearly $2 billion coming from a company in Abu Dhabi called International Holding Company.

• The rest of the money, $526 million, came from two companies in Mauritius that are related to the Adani family. One of these companies is called Emerging Market Investment DMCC and it invested $631 million into Adani companies between 2017 and 2018. The other company is called Gardenia Trade and Investment and it invested $782 million into Adani companies between 2021 and 2022. Gardenia Trade and Investment is directed by Emerging Market's manager Subir Mittra.

• These companies from Mauritius are not well-known, and they are related to the Adani family. This makes it hard to understand where the money is coming from and why.

• Adani has a lot of different parts to their business, with hundreds of companies and thousands of deals between them. This can make it hard for people outside the company to understand what's going on.

• Two companies that gave Adani a lot of money are connected to Adani's brother Vinod, who lives in Dubai.

Citizens for Animal Rights, co-petitioners in the matter of stray dogs in the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, have issued a legal notice to Indian Express Editor-in-Chief Raj Kamal Jha, alleging violation of the law in their article titled “Siblings mauled to death by stray dogs in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj.” The article, published on March 13, 2023, was deemed unverified, damaging and falsified, with no legal evidence to support its claim. The notice warns that publishing such unlawful news, which is ongoing and sub-judice before the Supreme Court, violates Indian law and attracts serious criminal proceedings, including but not limited to sections 146, 153, 503, 63, 182, 191, 203, 211, 323, and 121 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Citizens for Animal Rights have accused the Indian Express of committing contempt of the Supreme Court, influencing the view of the people, spreading hatred and fear for urban free-ranging animals and indirectly bringing harm upon the animals. They have further alleged that the publication of the article without formal press statements and video testimonials from the area violated the orders of the Supreme Court of India. The co-petitioners have called for legal action against the Indian Express and have sought the intervention of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Animal Welfare Board of India, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
