अमेरिकी कांग्रेस द्वारा गठित एक अर्ध-न्यायिक निकाय ने सोमवार को बाइडन प्रशासन से भारत, चीन, पाकिस्तान, अफगानिस्तान और 11 अन्य देशों को धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता की स्थिति के संदर्भ में 'विशेष चिंता वाले देश' में शामिल करने की सिफारिश की। भारत ने पूर्व में कहा है कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता पर अमेरिकी निकाय ने केवल उस मामले पर अपने पूर्वाग्रहों द्वारा निर्देशित होने का चयन किया है, जिस पर उसे हस्तक्षेप का कोई अधिकार नहीं है।

भारतीय विज्ञान संस्थान (आईआईएससी) के नये शोध से यह खुलासा हुआ है कि दमे की एक दवा कोरोना वायरस के स्पाइक प्रोटीन को रोकने में कारगर साबित हुई है।
आईआईएससी ने सोमवार को जारी आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति में कहा कि 'मोंटल्यूकास्ट' नाम की दमे की दवा पिछले 20 साल से बाजार में है और इसका इस्तेमाल दमा, हे फीवर और हाइव्स से ग्रसित मरीज करते हैं। यह अमेरिका के एफडीए से अनुमोदित दवा है।
आईआईएससी का यह शोध ईलाइफ में प्रकाशित हुआ है। शोध के दौरान पता चला कि यह दवा कोरोना वायरस के प्रोटीन एनएसपी1 के एक अंतिम सिरे यानी 'सी टर्मिनल' से मजबूती से जुड़ जाती है। यह उन पहले वायरल प्रोटीन में से एक है, जो मानव शरीर में प्रवेश करती है।

भारत और पाकिस्तान ने बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल की किसी भी टेस्टिंग की एक-दूसरे को पहले से सूचना देने के लिए 2005 में एक करार किया था।
इस फ्लाइट टेस्टिंग ऑफ बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल एग्रीमेंट के तहत इन दोनों देशों को किसी भी जमीन या समुद्र और जमीन से जमीन से लॉन्च की जाने वाली बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल की टेस्टिंग की पहले से जानकारी देनी होती है।
इस करार के मुताबिक, ऐसी किसी भी टेस्टिंग से पहले दोनों देश को पायलटों और नाविकों को सावधान करने के लिए एयर मिशन (NOTAM) या नेविगेशनल वॉर्निंग (NAVAREA) का नोटिस जारी करना चाहिए।
साथ ही, टेस्ट करने वाले देश को यह सुनिश्चित करना होता कि मिसाइल जिस जगह से छोड़ी जानी है, वह दोनों देशों की सीमा से 40 किलोमीटर दूर हो। इसके अलावा मिसाइल को जिस जगह गिरना है वह अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा या LoC से कम से कम 75 किलोमीटर दूर हो।
मिसाइल को उड़ान के दौरान भी अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा या LoC को पार नहीं करना चाहिए। पूरी उड़ान के दौरान मिसाइल को सीमा से कम से कम 40 किलोमीटर दूर रहना चाहिए।

The research measured light pollution from a Night Time Light (NLT) satellite image and assigned pixel-based digital number (DN) value to cluster. Regions with high light pollution were assigned DN values greater than 7 and those with decreasing intensity was marked between -3 and -7. In two decades since 1993, Gujarat’s DN value increased from -3 to -7 range to 7 and above.
“Urban expansion, industrial development and air pollution are main actors for increasing light pollution,” said Saurabh Singh of Centre for Land and Water Resource Management (CLWRM), Kosi. The research cites previous studies of light pollution having serious health implication on humans.
