Did you know how dangerous, reckless and sinful self-pity is? Self-pity is when you completely take God out of the equation and put yourself above Him. When you don't believe that He can turn around your circumstance or use it for good. When you don't care to listen to the voice of reason or hope...instead all you focus on is how terrible you feel and how bad you feel for yourself. Unfortunately, we've all been there...that place where you give up all hope and feel like you're picked on and nothing goes right. 

But that's where we are wrong. It always blows my mind how quickly we forgot all the times God came through for us! All the times He made a way when we didn't see any way! All the times His plan was better and the times He held us and waited for us to come to Him. 

Self-pity will only make things worse for you and everyone around you. Listen in as I share my experience with my friend that caused me to get deeper into thoughts and understanding of how dangerous self-pity is and how our friendship will only grow when we speak the truth no matter how hard it may be.

This episode talks about the dangers of being "too cool",  having an ego an being full of pride. As teenagers sometimes you begin to think that you know everything and you've got everything figured out. You aren't interested in hearing advice, guidance or warnings from others. You have the "that will never happen to me" attitude so you push people away and ignore wisdom. 

Scripture warns us about being prideful and the danger it puts us in when we don't listen to wisdom and warnings. Listen in... hopefully you will learn something new to help you this new year.

We must break the toxic thought patterns, redirect them into positive and hopeful thoughts and change our lives. 

It takes self-awareness and practice. It's not easy, but it's possible!! It starts with a choice. No matter your circumstance or situation, if you can learn to redirect your thoughts and start winning the battle in your mind, then you will change your entire life.

What is your daily confession? What do you repeatably speak over yourself....What kind of outlook do you have over your situation? Are you hopeful or hopeless? Do you speak life or death?

Words hold power. Therefore, your confession changes things. Use caution when speaking about yourself and others. Visualize a chain and each time you speak something negative you add another link to the chain, and you drag that chain around with you every day. You can either make the chain lighter or heavier depending upon our daily confession.

Protect your eyes and ears from the things you watch and hear. You become a product of your environment. Feed your mind and spirit things which are good and pure. 

And lastly, find your peace and protect your peace. Having a clear and stable mind is far more precious than rubies and gold. Make better choices.

Are you running from God? Do you think that you've messed up too badly...gone too far down the wrong road...ashamed, guilty? Sometimes we run from God when we feel this way, we hide, we put up walls, we create distance from God because we don't feel like He could ever forgive us...because sometimes it's hard to forgive ourselves. 

Or maybe you've never met God because you are scared of facing Him knowing that He knows everything about you...maybe you don't feel worthy...maybe you don't believe...maybe you think it's easier to live your life on your own terms? 

There may be many reasons why you are running from God. But He is the answer, the missing puzzle piece in your life. I've never met anyone who said they regret getting to know our Father.  Stop running!

Take Inventory of everything and everyone in your life. Too many times we take people and the things around us that brings us comfort and joy for granted. Too many times we take our health for granted. 

This season is the season of gratitude and thanksgiving. The season to express our love and appreciate for those in our lives that make it special. We can do simple things that make a big impact. It's all about paying it forward. Being generous and putting others before ourselves. 

So...look around at all you have been blessed with. Give thanks, express gratitude, and be a blessing to those around you.

Did you know that we transfer feelings and emotions to other people around us all day long. We transfer doubt, insecurities, fear, anger all the time without even realizing it. 

We impact those around us all day long, day in and day out and most of the time we don't even realize what we transferred to them.  I don't know about you, but I want to transfer love, hope, encouragement, self-worth and motivation. I don't want to be known as the vampire that transferred all negativity to those around me and sucked the life out of them. I want to be aware of how I impact others. 

And honestly, I want the same for you.  Because the reward attached to positive transfers is greater than you can even imagine. Listen in and try it for yourself!

Just like the seasons outside, we also experience seasons in our lives. Seasons of change are inevitable. Every one of our lives includes nearly constant contact with change. Some changes are voluntary; others are forced by circumstances. 

We all respond to changes/new seasons in our lives in different ways. Sometimes there is fear of the unknown. Often times we lack self-confidence in times of transition. Others experience frustration, loneliness, and pain. The antidote of these feelings is faith and active obedience to God's word. 

It's truly having faith in the things which are unseen and trusting that God has a plan for our lives and we can trust that we are going to be okay no matter what the new season brings.

Make no mistake....we are at war...the battle is all around us and within us. Our biggest enemy is ourselves. Our thoughts that come at us like tidal waves, crashing into our emotions causing us to become reactive in the moment. Mad, sad, offended, hurt, defeated, overwhelmed, depressed, hopeless....all of those negative feelings tied to our thoughts after we feel that we've lost the battle. 

We MUST put on the armor of God...the full armor of God to stand our ground against the enemy. Our greatest armor is God's word found in scripture....the word that defeats ALL the lies of the enemy. The word of truth that reminds us who we are and who's we are. The word that reminds us the battle has already been won and thru His blood and stripes the victory is ours. 

We are at war, everyday....all day. The enemy wants our souls and he comes to kill, steal an destroy. But for those of us that chose to put on the armor of God will win the battle every single time.
