As we discussed last time there’s times when you want to camp but the logistics of bringing your rig with you don’t work out. We wrap up our Tourist in Your Own state series this week with a focus on getting outdoors.

Louisiana is rightfully known as sportsman’s paradise and Glamping makes a perfect complement to all of those outdoor activities. One of our favorite spots to take it all in is the Toledo Bend Area. It’s trophy lake, top-notch golf resort, and other outdoor adventures make it a great spot for Glamping. One of our favorite places to home-base in those great outdoors is the Cypress Bend RV Park, operated by the Sabine River Authority.

This week we continue our Glamping in your own State Series with Part III; Glamping and Festivals! Our home state has lots of festivals, over 400 a year, and visiting them can be a lot of fun. One of our tricks and tips for making festivals more fun is to bring your camper along and make it a Glamping Trick.

One place we did just that was at Grand Bayou Resort in Coushatta, LA. We used that amazing campground as a jumping off point to explore the area and enjoy the Natchitoches Light Festival. This week we’ll continue our Tourist in your own State series with private campgrounds to help you beat the summer heat! It’s easy to overlook these “hidden gems” that might not have a slick website or an association with the major national franchises. However we’ve found that these often have great amenities, especially to help you beat the summer temps!

One campground is the Cypress Lake RV Resort in Berwick, LA. It had a great pool, fun outdoor water activities on its lake, numerous other local attractions, and a GirlDad Mom Approved laundry facility! Check out the episode for more info and the links below:

Sometimes we get caught up in exploring as Glampers and we can overlook some of the jewels near our own home. We’ll be starting a series on Glamping in your own State this week with some of these hidden jewels we’ve found in our home state of Louisiana!

This week we’ll talk about Poverty Point. Poverty Point was a great place for us to extend our Glamping into a normal weekend. We enjoyed the park as well as some of the nearby amenities. Along the way we learned quite a bit about this ancient site in our own state that we’d never been to.

We’re back with our first episode for 2021! Part of the delay has been from some unexpected issues that came up with our Glamper. Anyone who’s been camping for a while knows that that’s just part of the adventure of camping. This week, we’ll share some of the tips and tricks we’ve learned that keep us on the level and keep us having adventures despite minor setbacks.
