WE ARE NOT A TRUE CRIME PODCAST, but there is truly a lot of crime talk this week on the 2000s pop music podcast taking you through the top 40 singles chart from 20 years ago.

In summer 2003, Dizzee Rascal got stabbed in Ayia Napa, just months before winning the Mercury Prize – and Lisa Maffia allegedly was involved (she denies involvement). At the same time, Pete Doherty was arrested for breaking into his own bandmate's house as revenge for him being dropped from The Libertines. If that wasn't bad enough, Girls Aloud committed the ultimate crime: Releasing a single not quite as banging as their last two releases.
