This week Charlie is joined by two special guests, Derrick from Bad Movies Worse People and Capt. Steven from Bucket of Chum podcast. The guys cover Edge of Tomorrow...aka Live Die Repeat, a movie that takes the time-loop premise and straps it into a mech suit. Tom Cruise plays a PR officer with zero combat experience who gets dumped into an invasion against alien invaders called Mimics. He dies (spectacularly) in minutes, then wakes up at the start of the same day....over and over. Each reset, he learns, adapts, and gets a little better. Emily Blunt plays the “Angel of Verdun"....his drill sergeant and guide through the loop. What makes it work is the balance: it’s funny, brutal, and genuinely clever about how repetition changes a person. It’s Groundhog Day meets Saving Private Ryan with sci-fi technology. The action is tight and the story earns its payoff because failure actually matters. This is definitely one everyone should check out.

New Orleans is just cool, man. The only thing cooler might be Sylvester Stallone. Put that man in the bayou or the French Quarter and you've got our attention! 2012’s Bullet to the Head feels like it should have been a hit, but somehow it fell through the cracks! Now we get to cover it on B-ACTION! Walter Hill brings his signature style to this one with tons of brutality and conflict. Jason Momoa makes an early career appearance as a reckless mercenary and doesn't get the screen time he deserves. Speaking of which, a wild Christian Slater was sighted! With a banging soundtrack to pull it all together, we can “laissez les bons temps rouler”!

SURPRISE B*TCHES! Did yall really think we were going to let B-Action and Gimme Back have all of the extra fun this month?! WRONG-O!

Since I got to torture Pete with Armageddon, I got to thinking... what if we did TWO Month of Action picks and let Pete have his very own, too? We release it Friday night on our week and give everyone an authentic late-night feel to fit the vibe of the show. As you'd expect, it didn't take much convincing for Pete to jump aboard.

Pete was gonna Pete, and he picked the most Pete action pick Pete could ever pick! The Big Bird Cage is a 70's women in prison movie starring the incomparable Pam Grier and a very young Sid Haig. This film has the reputation of being somewhat of a comedy, so do yourself a favor and go into it with that in mind. This film is wild, crazy, and just what AHCRAP needed to end Month of Action. As per usual with us, this conversation is just as outrageous as the movie we're covering.

From the desk of Pete: It's the MONTH OF ACTION and Anna delighted in torturing Pete by making him finally watch Armageddon (1998). Wait, ha Pete's never seen Armageddon? It's true, Pete purposefully avoided the film for 28 years and has told everyone for years how much he hates it. Anna sat his butt down and pulled the parent card saying, "Well if you haven't tried it, then how do you know you don't like it?" Never argue with Mom logic. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying. Thankfully, Pete did not take this opportunity to completely dump all over this movie but instead had a rip-roaring conversation with his bestie. 'Eye's roll and belly's laugh' is a good description so please enjoy our departure from the usual weird late-night garbage we watch and strap in for a ride.

The late 80’s to mid 90’s action movie scene was ruled by a few leading men, but one would become ABOVE THE LAW and HARD TO KILL. However, in 1990, he would be Marked for Death! That's right! Steven Seagal drives his badass Mustang Mach 1 right into the middle of The Month of Action! And with all this Voodoo magic, we're gonna need back up from #1 Seagal Super Fan THE Official Joey-C! We're talking peak Steven Seagal fighting off Jamaican drug dealers with his cool car chases, bone-crunching brutal fights, and big ass guns! If that wasn't enough, throw in the greatness that is Keith David! Now you're dealing with double trouble…in more ways than one.

Month of Action continues!

Charlie is joined by John from A Cut Above Horror Review this week with an "underrated" Arnold movie. 

Eraser is basically 1996’s answer to “what if Arnold Schwarzenegger was HR for witnesses?” He plays John Kruger, a U.S. Marshal who fakes your death, scrubs your identity, and probably has a bit too much fun with picking out your new identity. The plot kicks in when he protects Vanessa Williams from corrupt government goons selling super-guns that can see through walls. Yes, the bad guys invented X-ray rifles and thought, “This won’t backfire at all.” Cue Arnold defying physics with an electromagnetic railgun the size of a small Honda, delivering one-liners like he’s getting paid per pun. It’s loud, it’s dumb in the best way, and it’s peak Arnold: explosions first, logic later, paperwork never. If you miss when action movies solved problems with shoulder-mounted hardware and a smirk, Eraser still holds up. Just don’t ask how that railgun ammo works....or why Alligators were needed.

Human or machine? 1992’s Nemesis dives into a secret war between man and machine that is being waged in the criminal underground around the world in the distant future of…2027?! Only Alex, a half man half machine LAPD officer, can be the one to stop a violent cyborg takeover! The action and special effects take this b movie to the next level with more bullets and violence than you could shake a computer chip at. Albert Pyun builds a new, interesting world on the backs of established movie franchises that would go on to influence the next generation of scifi action directors. It's cheesy, it's campy, it's extremely hard to follow, but it's a ton of fun to watch.

Summertime tent-pole movies were a staple of the 90s and few films were more tent-poling than Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Robin Hood didn't start the trend but rather it defined what a summer blockbuster should be: hire a star-studded cast, dress them all in incredible costuming, film in stunning set locations, don't write an overcomplicated script, and pepper in enough humor so as not to take yourself too seriously. This movie was so much in the public zeitgeist that kids were playing Merry Men and Sheriffs instead of Cops and Robbers... well maybe not but I like to think so. Grab your kids and a big bowl of popcorn, this one should be on the watchlist.

Stop me if you've heard this one before…A cowboy and a biker walk into a bar and get wrapped up in a ridiculous plot to stop the gentrification of their beloved town of Burbank and end up in the middle of drug trafficking by a bunch of dudes that look like they've been freshly uploaded into The Matrix! Whew! Well, that's Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man starring pre plastic surgery Mickey Rourke and the ALWAYS BADASS Don Johnson. This is a man's man type of movie and it does not shy away from the machismo. The characters themselves make this movie what it is with visual and descriptive hints that make for a great experience! Great dialogue, lots of bullets, and just straight testosterone will take you for a ride on the wild side!
