Rohtas Wadera and Sam Angel are back with Episode 96 of Give N’ Go, featuring a standout conversation with Fred Wilson, Executive Director of Mustang Soccer League.
Wilson reflects on more than three decades in youth soccer and the growth of Mustang into one of the Bay Area’s most established soccer communities. He discusses building a player-first culture, using data and AI as tools in development, the importance of strong coach-player relationships, and why the human side of the game still matters most.
His philosophy is simple: create an environment kids want to return to, be present with players, and above all, be good to kids.
Sam and Rohtas also break down several stories from around the women’s game, including the NWSL’s decision to start its 2027 season earlier ahead of the Women’s World Cup, a new goalkeeper injury rule being tested in the WSL, and the return of Ted Lasso with women’s soccer taking center stage.
