Glass Box Podcast

Who wants something FUN today? We have had a few dark and depressing episodes lately that we decided we all needed a break. You need to see fun things to remind you the world really ISN'T on fire … yet. First we start with news out of Canada where BYUtv agreed to allow LGBTQ+ characters on their shows, then we discuss the movie Clue in Media of Great Price, and we end with a little happy news about the cellist Yo Yo Ma.

It's that time of year again for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We managed to watch all of the April 2021 General Conference and have our analysis for you here. We'll go over the more damaging points made by Oaks, Bednar, etc, as well some of the more odd moments. And if you're a Patreon patron, you get to hear about the strange behavior of Eyring in his talk in the Saturday night priesthood session. There's a lot to get through. Give yourself some time.

We're finally done with The Naked Communist!!! Instead of drawing it out for 2 more MoGP segments, we devote the primary segment to wrapping up NC with Cleon Skousen's 5 questions and a LOOOONG speech in front of a Washington PTA. Then we finish our coverage of communism by reviewing the movie Trumbo about the Hollywood 10. Then we finish with some happy news about some Native American tribes administering surplus COVID vaccines.

BYU recently released a report on racism and discrimination at the university campus including 26 recommendations to increase diversity. We read through the entire report so you don't have to! We discuss their findings, the data presented, and what changes we can realistically expect to see as a result of the report. After that we discuss the 2005 George Clooney movie Good Night, and Good Luck. We wrap with some happy news about electric cars because if Shannon gets to share her passion for movies every two weeks then I get to bring another of my passions onto the show once in a while too!
