Insanely busy Tuesday edition of GCR as the Marlins mess continues to dominate conversation. Early in the show, epidemiologist Dr. Zach Binney (who also writes for Football Outsiders and NFLInjuryAnalytics.com) joined us to discuss the fallout, including why he doesn't think any of the Marlins traveling party should be coming to Baltimore. Midway through Hour 1, Orioles play by play voice Geoff Arnold joined us to discuss what it was like making his MLB regular season debut working from a studio and in this crazy circumstances. Early in Hour 2, highly regarded Florida defensive back Corey Coley Jr. explained his decision to come to Maryland when he was being recruited by power programs like LSU and Notre Dame. Midway through Hour 2, longtime former Orioles trainer Richie Bancells joined us to discuss the difficulty of trying to keep MLB players safe at the moment. And we wrapped the show by catching up with Stevenson Athletic Director Brett Adams after the MAC decided to push fall sports back and not play anything until after January 1.

So...what was a fun weekend of watching baseball devolved into pure chaos and us wondering if we can even play baseball moving forward. Awesome. Early in Hour 2, former Ravens pass rusher Trevor Pryce joined us to discuss the death of TV icon Regis Philbin-who he worked with on the former FS1 show "Crowd Goes Wild." He told us some great stories about why he loved working with him. And at the bottom of Hour 2, we caught up with 105.7 The Fan's Jeremy Conn to discuss whether he's uncomfortable watching the Orioles win games and in honor of Lou Williams, some strip club stories.

Busy Friday show to wrap the week here on GCR. MLB is expanding the playoffs. That's okay for this year. Is it okay in future years? Can it be done differently to make it more palatable? Which teams' projected win totals will end up being the furthest away from their actual win totals? Loser is going to have to celebrate our friends to the north by wearing a Canadian Tuxedo for a show while performing "Photograph" by Nickelback and "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne. At the bottom of Hour 2, Morgan State football coach Tyrone Wheatley checked in to discuss the MEAC cancelling fall sports and hopes for a spring season.

Midway through Hour 2, our friend Jeremy Conn joined us to discuss what it's like to vacation with (nearly) adult kids, how his life changes with baseball back and more. And we wrapped the show by catching up with our friend/UMBC soccer coach Pete Caringi after the America East announced fall sports were postponed.

More football has been cancelled (boo) and the Washington Post report on the toxic culture with the football organization is out and it's...heinous (boo again). So lots of fun on today's show, huh? He received global attention this week for being "the first man to be vaccinated for COVID-19." That's not entirely true, but he does believe he's vaccinated and that it's an encouraging step. Things in Washington are...a mess. Do you feel any sympathy for them at all? The Ravens didn't get a deal done with Matt Judon. That was...to be expected. Midway through Hour 1, longtime NFL writer Jason Cole joined us to discuss the mess in DC, whether there will be a season, the Judon situation, how Patrick Mahomes' deal impacts Lamar Jackson and more. Early in Hour 2, Loyola Athletic Director Donna Woodruff checked in to discuss the Patriot League cancelling fall sports (with hopes to play in the spring). Midway through Hour 2, Baltimore Sun Orioles beat writer Jon Meoli checked in to discuss which prospects we might see with the Orioles during the short season and we wrapped Hour 2 by chatting with Rick Dempsey about his expectations for the short season, the extra inning idea and more.
