Andrew Diprose an evangelical Christian worker in Italy is interviewed by Pete Stover on the April 2019 Global Prayer Digest Podcast. 

The printed edition of Global Prayer Digest will cover every unreached people group in Italy listed by the Joshua Project, a Christian research organization which determines which people groups are termed unreached. We are also going to pray for the Punjabi Sikhs, since workers say that they are a key people group in Italy right now. Our key Bible portions will be from … you guessed it … Romans. In this 37-minute Global Prayer Digest podcast, Pete Stover interviews Brian Newton, an active retired worker in Malaysia and among Malays. Global Prayer Digest is focusing this month on the country of Malaysia. 

Newton helps us understand a bit more about Malaysia, its people, how God is moving there, and how we can pray. 

Newton served as a missionary among non-Malays in Malaysia from 1975-1986 and then re-located to the U.S. to work among the diaspora and university students. In 1992, Newton was burdened to reach Malays outside of Malaysia having been engaged in a prayer movement for those peoples. 

Newton brings more than four decades of experience and insight on Malaysia and prayer for this country in Southeast Asia to our discussion and concludes the interview with four specific areas of prayer.

Prayer points for Chad:

Pray for Chad's Muslims: • Pray for the Lord to impress on Chadian Muslims that they need a savior who is holy and righteous. • Pray for them to have spiritual hunger that will lead them to Jesus Christ. • Pray for their elders and other leaders to understand and embrace the glory and holiness of Jesus. • Pray for a church-planting movement to flourish among Chad's unreached Muslim communities. • Pray for efforts to reach each of Chad's unreached, unengaged people groups with the gospel of peace. • Pray that as Muslim people groups follow Christ, that they will be transformed into His glorious likeness.

Pray for Chad's Believers: • Pray for a spiritual revival among Chad's believers that will result in them declaring His greatness among others. • Pray for believers to lovingly reach their Muslim neighbors in places where the two groups meet, like in the towns and villages of Chad's south. • Pray for followers of Christ to be willing to reach the nomadic Muslim people groups no matter what it takes. • It will probably take believers who are willing to risk martyrdom to reach Chad's unreached communities. Pray for the Lord to raise up such people who will give up their lives for the sake of Christ.

Pray for Chad's Needs: • Pray for peace in this nation that has been wracked by insurgencies and war at the expense of much needed infrastructure projects. • Pray that as the United States gives military aid to Chad that they won't neglect to help them build roads, schools, and medical facilities. • Pray for Chad to find exportable resources that will raise their level of wealth and provide jobs for many. • Pray for the Lord to raise up servant-leaders to replace anyone who is using their political position for personal gain.

1—Pray for a firm foundation of faith in the living Christ that can turn Somalia around. 2—Pray for God to raise up Ezras and Nehemiahs for Somalia. 3—Pray that Somalis will swallow their pride and work together for the common good.

Yemen needs unity! However, the "unity" that they have had in the past will at best delay more fighting. Without repentance before a holy God and a willingness on the part of the strong to take care of the needs of the weak the problems will surface again in a couple of years. Let us not forget that Yemen is a land where Islam has dominated for centuries. But we worship the God of the impossible! 

This episode begins a new format that will include interviews with experts and prayers by intercessors.

Pray that the Odh people may come to Christ. Pray that their persecutors will understand that forced conversion is worthless. Pray that Odh believers will be used of God to bring hardened Muslims to the throne of grace.

Pray that the national church will support their own pastors and missionaries so that the small Bavari church can stand on its own without outside funds.
