What if the simplest idea could save a life?
Dr. Rob Yonover spent decades developing a deceptively simple invention: the Sea Rescue Streamer, a long, highly visible signaling device designed to help people become easier to spot when lost at sea or in the mountains.
The invention eventually made its way into military applications and even onto a SpaceX spacecraft. But getting there was anything but easy.
Rob's story is a masterclass in persistence, invention, networking, PR, and playing the long game.
He first came up with the idea after looking down from an airplane and realizing just how impossible it could be to spot a person from the air. Years later, after seeing brightly colored plastic from the sky, the idea took shape. He spent years refining the design, using biomimicry and simple engineering to keep the streamer extended instead of twisting or curling.
Then came the hustle.
Rob used old-school fax machines, late-night calls, media outreach, trade shows, elevator pitches, networking, and eventually Shark Tank to get attention for his invention.
And Shark Tank wasn't the end of the story.
While the Sharks recognized the potential to save lives, Rob explains why they believed selling safety equipment to everyday consumers would be difficult. Meanwhile, the invention continued gaining military applications, including use by international military organizations and SpaceX.
You'll discover:
🚀 How a simple invention ended up on a SpaceX spacecraft
🛟 Why rescuers can fly directly over someone and still miss them
💡 How Rob turned a simple observation into a patented invention
🌱 Why biomimicry became part of his design strategy
📣 How he used PR to get his invention noticed
🎣 Why he compares marketing to "putting lines in the water"
🤝 How trade shows and a 30-second elevator pitch opened doors
🦈 What happened when Rob took the invention to Shark Tank
💰 Why a great product can still be difficult to sell to consumers
🎯 Why Rob believes entrepreneurs should play the long game
🏆 How persistence eventually led to military and SpaceX applications
❤️ The real stories of people who say the streamer helped save their lives
Rob also shares the challenges of building a business around military contracts, surviving long periods between orders, selling safety equipment to consumers, and balancing entrepreneurship with being a caregiver and raising a family.
This isn't just an invention story. It's a story about refusing to quit when the market doesn't immediately understand what you've built.

What do you do when you can't find the answers you need? You build a better way. After 15 years in the corporate technology world, Alenka Kyslik faced a personal health journey that took her through years of searching, more than $10,000 in expenses, and roughly 50 different treatments. What if exponential business growth starts with changing the leader—not the business?
Dr. Gene Early has spent more than four decades working with leaders and organizations on transformational growth. A PhD in leadership and organizational development, strategic advisor, executive coach, and co-founder of Genomic Health, Gene believes leadership begins on the inside.
His 10X Model focuses on the connection between your internal world and your external results.
Gene also shares a powerful client story involving a cybersecurity company that had stalled after COVID. The CEO believed he was part of the problem—and through coaching, discovered that his greatest strength was being a “people whisperer” or “soul catcher.” The resulting leadership transition helped move the company from $23 million to $69 million in revenue over 10 months, according to Gene.
Gene's quick-start exercise for finding your own 10X potential:
Look back at your life and identify 3–5 times you exceeded your own expectations. Then ask: What pattern made those outcomes possible?
This conversation is about leadership, entrepreneurship, personal development, organizational growth, self-awareness, and discovering the potential already within you.

What if your team isn't prepared for pressure because you've never actually practiced under pressure?
Stephen Balzac, president of Seven Steps Ahead, consultant, author, speaker, and organizational development expert, has developed a fascinating approach to leadership and team development using story, ritual, simulation, and live-action roleplay.
His latest book, The LARP Effect, explores how immersive experiences can create stronger teams, better decision-making, deeper connections, and more resilient organizational cultures.
In this episode of the GLOVISOR Podcast, Stephen explains:
🎯 Why people make better decisions when there's no pressure—but can struggle when the stakes become real
🎭 How live-action roleplay can simulate the tension of real-world situations
🧠 Why putting people into a story can reveal behaviors that traditional meetings don't
🤝 How shared experiences create stronger connections and organizational culture
💡 Why roleplay gives people permission to experiment, fail, and try again
🚨 How Stephen used an immersive pandemic simulation to uncover gaps in preparedness and communication
👥 What happens when different groups experience the same scenario from different perspectives
📖 How his experience with LARP evolved into doctoral research and organizational consulting
🏢 Why culture becomes stronger when teams develop shared stories and experiences
🫱 Why building allies before you need them can be critical to leadership
🔄 Why organizations don't rise to the level of their strategy—but fall to the level of their rehearsal
Stephen's central message is powerful:
“Organizations don't rise to the level of their strategy, they fall to the level of their rehearsal.”
If you're a leader, entrepreneur, executive, or team member responsible for making decisions under pressure, this conversation offers a different way to think about leadership development, team building, communication, and preparation.

What if you can have success on the outside, and still feel empty on the inside?
Bracha Goetz is a Harvard graduate, prolific author, and positive mindset expert who has written 47 children's books along with her candid adult memoir. But behind her academic success was a deeply personal struggle with food addiction, emptiness, and questioning the meaning of life.
Her breakthrough came through studying ancient wisdom and practicing gratitude—and what she discovered became the foundation of the work she now shares with children, parents, and adults.
Bracha's message is remarkably simple:
Any moment you spend being grateful is a moment you're not spending being miserable
This conversation explores gratitude, happiness, personal growth, habits, meaning, creativity, parenting, and the possibility of creating more joy in everyday life.
