Discipleship Points: Points from last program were reviewed. The main emphasis for today's program centered on Jesus's statement "can the blind lead the blind?' As His disciples sat at His feet, learned and grew...and then went, we, too, can sit at His feet/under good teaching, grow and then GO! Gary shares insights as he continually goes into all the world. He shared on giving away thousands and thousands to help others. Both points are to encourage others to go and to give themselves!

Scriptures Reviewed: Matt. 5:7; Eph. 5:1; Luke 6:37-38; I Pet. 2:9-11, 15; John 10:10b; III John II.

Discipleship Points: Believers are not to judge nor condemn but are to forgive. Along with scriptures that say what not to do are those that say what to do. Like love our neighbor, speak with wisdom, etc. We do these because we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, we came from darkness to light. Some comments on "give and it shall be given" are included as are verses that say the Lord wants us to have an abundant life, He wants us to be in health and has good for us/believers.

Discipleship Points: God modeled giving through Jesus; doing good for recompense betrays a self-interest, like a business transaction and is not true love from the heart/not a Christian model; Christians are called to give, even to the unthankful and evil; God does not give or withhold His kindness dependent upon the character of the recipient; Christians are to go beyond forgiving, not judging, not condemning to seek the positive well-being of others.

Scriptures Reviewed: Luke 6:32-36; Phil. 4:13; Phil. 4:19; Daniel 11:32; Rom. 5:7-8.

Discipleship Points: Jesus's point that reciprocity is NOT a Christian response in all matters; believers are called to a far higher standard. Our standard is higher for many reasons godly reasons. A powerful point from Luke 6:34-35 concerns loving, lending, expecting nothing. When we do this, our reward will be great and we will be sons and daughters of the Most High. Program ends with reference to God's character.

Discipleship Points: Blessed and woe statements from the Sermon on the Plain; Christlike responses and actions when persecuted, slandered, and reviled; loving our enemy and praying for them as Jesus did as He was on the Cross.

Scriptures Reviewed: Luke 6:17-26; Luke 12:16-21.

Discipleship Points: Many came to hear Jesus, some from distances. Pharisees questioned healing, rather than celebrate it; there may be some in church today who do the same. The speech Jesus gave here is called the Sermon on the Plain. The Sermon speaks contrasts: blessed are you, you will receive, woe to you "satisfied now" for you shall...

Scriptures Reviewed: Romans 13:1-7; Luke 6:9-16; Luke 6:17-19

Discipleship Points: Gary opened with a couple of wonderful testimonies with one beginning in the return line at a grocery store. Reviews from previous week re: obeying authority from Romans 13; Jesus asking is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath and then performing a healing; the Disciples were chosen; and a look at the greatness of God and Jesus as huge crowds gathered including from cities miles and miles away.

Scriptures Reviewed: Matt. 12:1-14; Luke 6:1-8; Luke 6:9-11; Romans 13:1-7.

Discipleship Points: Many powerful verses: Something greater than the Temple is here; though priests worked, they did not profane the Sabbath; Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath; "I desire mercy not sacrifice;" Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath? When Jesus asked this last question, the Pharisees could not answer. Jesus then said, "stretch forth our hand" and the man's hand was healed. Many on the political left reference Jesus's compassion to defend their actions/stances; however, they ignore/forget the commands in Romans to obey the gov't.

Discipleship Points: Review of 7 essentials of Christianity; Comparison of LDS church beliefs on "no good churches in 1820's" & one true church with history re: the Great Awakenings & Bible noting all believers are part of one body; Reasons why Matt. 12 call priests guiltless though they work on the Sabbath and Jesus guiltless though He healed man with withered hand; Return to Luke 6 verse 6-8.

Discipleship Points: The 7 Essentials of the Christian faith are presented. These are essentials because every Christian group/ church/denomination believes and accepts these. This phrase was also shared: "in the essentials, unity (we all agree), in the non-essentials, liberty (choice of the group/church) and in all things, charity. As the Bible states in Col. 3:14, "but above all things put on love, which is the bond of perfection."
