This program continues talking on Christian doctrine. Two LDS claims that indicate they are the true church, being led by a President/Prophet and having the Aaronic and Melchizedec priesthood, are compared to biblical scriptures on how God speaks to the church today and who has or does not have the priesthood. The program then looks at a churchwide event in Samaria and an individual call for Philip.

In his book Translating God, Shawn Bolz makes the point that prophecy ties believers to their eternal calling and a glimpse of who they are. Gary and Manny discus how Christian doctrine does the same, i.e. who believers are, their standing with God, eternal security and more. They then discuss good works and other doctrine, some relative to the LDS faith.

Gary and Manny review Christian doctrine including who is a Christian, what happens when one receives Christ/is born again, are Christians justified from day one, eternal security and more.

70. Host Gary along with co-host Manny and guest Jeff Wirth review the steps Jeff took to move from a fleshly, carnal walk to being a sold-out discipleship. The three then discuss divorce and tools for having a Christian marriage between believers. They also touch on the practice years ago of many in church shunning those divorced.

Jeff Wirth started out his walk with God pretty much on his own. He did not connect with other believers; partly due to this, he lived a pretty fleshly walk. In this state he prayed that he could be a sold-out follower, like the first disciples. God answered Jeff's prayer and Jeff grew. This interview covers his life from a fleshly walk to a sold-out status...and how God used him as grew closer!

The program starts out with the scripture "Lord who has believed our report?" Gary and Manny share some stories about those who initially reject the Gospel. Then, they discuss the scripture "faith comes hearing and hearing by the Word of God." The importance of knowing and staying in the Word is reviewed along with the tie-in to hearing God's voice. The final portion reviews scriptures that indicate the Gospel and the knowledge of God have gone around the whole world, to the hearing of every person.

In Romans 10:11-15 Paul shows that whosoever seeks Him and calls to Him will be saved. This negates thoughts that only certain ones will know Him. Verses 14-15 talk about the need for others to hear and how they can only hear if preachers, teachers and others are sent and go. Manny talks of his being saved at a music festival and Gary shares how he led three women to Christ, who had an unexpected family death and were desiring assurance.

Gary and co-host Manny cover verses 5-10 in Romans 10. Verse 5 talks of how those who believe in righteousness by the Law shall live by it, an exceptionally difficult place to be as the Bible says none of us can keep the law perfectly. The position is contrasted with grace, whereby Christians are saved and by grace and faith inherit the promises. Verses 6 and 7 present the impossible task for those who choose to not live by faith; the task is either ascending to heaven to bring Jesus down or going to Hell, to bring Him again from the dead. The program closes with verses that proclaim the title, i.e. that the Word is near all of us, even in our hearts and we receive or walk in that Word through belief and confession based upon it.

Gary along with Manny conclude Romans 9 noting the fact that although Israel followed after the law of righteousness, the nation did not achieve it as they stumbled at the stumbling stone, Jesus. Verse 33 concludes the chapter saying whoever believes in Him, Jesus, will not be ashamed. Chapter 10 begins with Paul's desire for Israel to be saved; he sees them zealous for God but without knowledge. He shows in verse 3 that Israel tries to establish its own righteousness, a problem in the modern Christian church today brought upon by legalism. Verse 4 shows how Christ is the end of the law for righteousness, meaning legalism is dead in the water once these scriptures are understood.

Gary and Manny as a co-host talk of times when God suffered long and how His patience opened doors for Him to work good in the lives of believers and bring Himself glory. They discuss the main points of verses 23-29. These include that God will have mercy on Him he will; that the Jews, though originally chosen, trusted in their self-righteousness so only a remnant will remain; and those who were not His people, the Gentiles, will be called the children of the living God.
