For the Christmas and New Years programs the past two years, Gary examined the supernatural side of the Christmas story. He discussed a teen and an angel having a dialogue, a priest being able to speak upon entering a temple but not upon leaving, an angel talking with shepherds and more. In today's program, he focuses on Joseph and the years immediately after Jesus's birth. He and Manny Rodriguez, who together are producing the program, discuss the events in scriptures from Matthew chapters 1 and 2 and the pertinent points.

In this program, Gary mentions the prior two programs which included interviews with Kat De Penning of GEM and Robin Lococo of Challenged Champions and Heroes. Gary gives a short summary of Romans 8 verses 1-14, highlighting important points. He then introduces verses 15-22 and concludes with a short prayer.

Gary interviews a friend and sister in Christ from California. Robin Lococo is the founder of Challenged Champions and Heroes, an international ministry serving people with disabilities and their caregivers. This ministry reaches 29 countries. Robin has written two books, "Serving to the Top" and "Stress and Depression among Disabilities." Robin also works as a manager and confidant to Sir Clyde Rivers, a leader in World Civility.

Gary talks with Kat De Penning, a believer serving God through GEM, Greater European Mission. (albeit in different years, Kat and Gary graduated from the same college, Central College in Pella, Iowa.) Kat shares her testimony, a story and about her time attending Bible College and serving in Greece. Her testimony includes a couple of signs, something new to her, but ones that were remarkably accurate.  She talks about GEM, its focus, its history and she  encourages believers to go into all the world and what this has meant in her life

This program focuses on Romans 8:9-14. The apostle Paul makes it very clear that only those who have the Spirit of God are truly saved, born-again. Those without the Spirit, no matter how passionate in their life for God and godly ways, are not saved and are none of His. Those with the Spirit have great power to both walk in the Spirit and to mortify the deeds of the flesh. Both these lead to an overcoming and fulfilling Christian life and prove one is a child of God.

Gary focuses on two parts of scripture, Romans 8:5-8 and Col. 3:1-17. This section of Romans talks of the difficulties and impossibilities of being in the flesh and being carnally minded. Those in the flesh cannot please God and carnally minded people, whether saved or not, are at enmity with God, His ways and the result is death, whether physical or just being deprived of a whole life. Being spiritually minded leads to life and peace, and allows us to see God, see Him move and begin to follow His ways. The verses from Colossians illustrate the characteristics of the old and new man. 

Gary covers Romans 8:4. The verse explains how the Law was fulfilled in us, or for us, by Christ. This work is in our spirit. The verse also mentions that we now walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh, consistent with our new nature! He then gives examples of how he followed the Spirit during his Christmas trip. He both followed the Spirit's peace and His direct leading. He also was able to share Christ and see a man receive the Lord.  

Gary finishes the Christmas Story and starts Romans 8. He reviews the miraculous with Zacharias, speaking, not speaking for 9 months, writing a name and speaking, again, etc. The idea of a prophecy for an older couple to have a child. Gary finishes with Mary's song from Luke 1:45-54 and Zacharias's prophecy, Luke 1:67-79, noting the beauty in each as well as the wonder and power of God. He then starts Romans 8 covering verse 1-3. Romans 8 brings the good news  of what Christ has done to address the concerns expressed in Romans 6 and 7.

Gary continues reviewing the Christmas Story from Luke. The first portion covers when Elizabeth is visited by Mary and how Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit when she heard Mary's greeting. After the birth of Jesus, more of the supernatural and the miraculous surfaces. An angel visits shepherds, comforts them and suddenly a multitude of angels appear. Prior to the birth of Jesus, John was born. His birth was accompanied by an angel, a mute father, and more. All the portions in Luke support that miracles and supernatural are woven throughout the birth of Jesus.

Gary reads portions of the Christmas story in the book of Luke with a focus on the supernatural and miraculous parts of the story. An angel and a teen having a conversation, the angel comforting the teen and a teen having a baby without having relations with a man, i.e. a virgin birth. Mary was given a calling and accepted it, saying "let it be according to your word." Gary relates how Mary accepted her calling, and all believers should seek out their calling.
