Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat a crazed biker goes on a rampage seeking revenge and has Sonny directly in his cross-hairs in the episode Viking Bikers From Hell. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering the when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from March 30 to April 5, 1987, when Miami Vice was King.

Way back on This Week In Vice number 38 at the very beginning of Season 3 of Miami Vice the top movie was The Color Of Money. The film stars the one and only Paul Newman and I mentioned on episode 38 he would receive his first Academy Award for his role as "Fast" Eddie. On March 30, the night finally came. Newman is only the fourth actor to been nominated twice for the same character in two different films. Its a shame it took this long for Newman to win the award after receiving his first nomination in 1958 for his performance in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. After countless unforgettable performances at least the world was finally made right on this night.

During this time period Club Nouveau's cover of Lean on Me will give up the top spot after spending two weeks on the top of the Hot 100. Taking over the charts is the song Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship. The duet is the theme for the comedy film Mannequin and blah, blah, blah… Look, I'm not a fan of Starship and Mannequin is a terrible movie. Kicking Bruce Willis and the movie Blind Date) from the top of the box office is the comedy Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. Starring a lot of the cast from the original film, including Steve Guttenberg, Bubba Smith and Michael Winslow the film was nominated for a Razzie and has been generally panned by critics and moviegoers. Unfortunately, there was still three more Police Academy movies released after Citizens On Patrol but this was the last for Steve Guttenberg.

Okay, okay… No on freak out. Yes, we are having a “meh” few episodes of Miami Vice as we near the end of season three. But, that doesn’t mean that’s how Go With The Heat isn’t closing out the season with a bang! This episode revolves around a crooked DEA agent. I know, another dirty cop. The episode does have Izzy, deep music selection and an I.A.D. officer who gets really close to finally nailing Crockett.

John introduces Dominic to Grace Jones and finds a way to work in a meat fondler reference. Dominic professes his love for Bryan Adams and Melissa is REALLY upset no one is thinking of Brian.

Just three episodes left in season three of Miami Vice.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat the team uncovers a D.E.A. agent doing all the wrong things for the right reason in the episode Knock, Knock… Who's There?. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering the when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from March 23 to March 29, 1987, when Miami Vice was King.

I've talked about wrestling here on This Week in Vice and the 80's is full of amazing events. On March 29 Wrestlemania III took place at the Pontiac Silverdome and is easily the biggest moment in professional wrestling history. This event held matches with such huge names as King Kong Bundy, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, the Junkyard Dog, Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs and Macho Man Randy Savage and more. But that's not the biggest match of the night. In the main event, Hulk Hogan would rise up with all his Hulkamaniacs and body slam the 525 lb. legend Andre the Giant to retain the championship. It was this night that turned me and millions of 80's kids into instant wrestling fans and is still one of my favorite childhood memories.

Replacing Huey Lewis and The News on the Hot 100 is the R&B song by Club Nouveau. From the album Life, Love & Pain the song is a cover of the 1972 classic by the same name by the amazing Bill Withers. The song would spend two weeks at the top and Bill Withers would win a Grammy as the writer for Best R&B song.

We're transitioning from Lethal Weapon in its final week at the top of the box office as it finally gives way to the romantic comedy Blind Date. Starring Kim Basinger and Bruce Willis in his first leading role, it performed well in the box office and had a fairly deep cast including Phil Hartman and John Larroquette.

An all-star guest star cast, top quality music and a very explicit Crockett sex scene! This has all the makings of an amazing episode of Miami Vice. Hell, its even got 2 professional wrestlers, Izzy taking boudoir photos and Don Johnson directing. How could any of this go wrong…

The Vice team could have made quick work of this case by only doing two things. One, Crockett keeps it in his pants. I know, I know, easier said than done. Two, someone please listen to Trudy for once! We thoroughly enjoyed this episode, including reviewing all of the amazing guest stars piled into a single episode.

John is busy keeping score between Vice surveilience and the muscle bound hitmen Ooga and Booga. Melissa wants to know where Izzy’s greyhounds are and Dominic introduces us to the amazing Don Johnson movie Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

An instant classic.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat Sonny falls for a successful businesswoman who might be the key to their investigation in the episode By Hooker By Crook. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering the when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from March 16 to March 22, 1987, when Miami Vice was King.

On March 19, Jim Bakker resigned from PTL after admitting to a pay-off to Jessica Hahn, who accused the televangelist of drugging and raping her. Bakker would later be found guilty of fraud and conspiracy, ultimately being sentenced to 8 years in prison. Jerry Falwell would take the place of Jim Bakker at PTL and in the wake of the news would call Bakker a liar and a sexual deviant. You know its bad when Jerry Falwell can judge you.

Bon Jovi finally gives up the number one spot and brings a return of Huey Lewis and the News to the top of the Hot 100. Jacob's Ladder is the third single released from the album Fore! and would only hold the top spot for one week. This song represents one of the reasons I love the 80's. Pop culture changed so fast, you never know what could happen week to week.

As you know from last week, Lethal Weapon made its debut and will hold the box office for three weeks. But, it gives us the perfect opportunity to look at the other movies I mentioned last week. I'm going to skip Burt Reynolds and focus on two classics. First is Raising Arizona, directed by the Coen Brothers and starring Nicholas Cage, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, Randall "Tex" Cobb and more. Raising Arizona is a classic and has gained a significant following in the years since its release.

But more important than any other movie in the 80's. On March 13 the parody sequel Evil Dead II was released and is the single greatest movie of our time to ever grace screens across America. It stars the greatest living actor – the one, the only Bruce Campbell. Written Sam Raimi (who also Directed) and Scott Spiegel, they wrote the film while living with the Coen Brothers, Frances McDormand and Holly Hunter, you know… from the classic film Raising Arizona. Evil Dead II is the definition of a cult film and I have no shame saying its easily one of my top 3 favorite movies ever.

The city of Miami only has three types of people: Massive drug dealers, crooked cops and the people trying to bust them. In this episode we just happen to get all three types and your Go With The Heat team absolutely loves it. This was a win-win episode for all of you co-hosts who really enjoyed this episode. In this Tubbs heavy episode, we get the Rico we’ve been begging for who’s intense, aggressive and REALLY wants his money.

Dominic really wants to know who Camille is and just how close were they to “the promise land” at 4AM? John gives us a twist about one of our guest stars and introduces us all to The Alan Parsons Project. Melissa wants to give Lou Diamond Philips a Miami Vice Award for his A+ effort in the final scene.

Its one of the best episodes of season 3 of Miami Vice.

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat Tubbs works deep undercover to find a leak and a crooked detective in the episode Red Tape. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering the when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from March 2 to March 15, 1987, when Miami Vice was King.

On March 13 John Gotti was acquitted of all charges including racqeteering in a major upset to the prosecutors. The news of Gotti's acquittal spread the moniker "The Teflon Don" since charges never stuck to the famed mafia boss.

In TV, on March 8 NBC aired the final episode of the The A-Team. The iconic show was only on for four seasons before the final plan came together. Although I'm not much of a fan of this show, it did introduce the world to Mr. T and I pity the fool who doesn't love the T.

Bon Jovi is at the top of the Hot 100 for one more week, so lets go to the archives. Peaking at number 7 is The Beastie Boys classic (You Gotta) Fight for your Right (To Party!). From their debut album License to Ill it was the fourth single from one is arguably one of the best albums of the 80's. The combination of The Beastie Boys personality, the music video and the ironic parody of the lyrics makes this song transcend the 80's and is still a cultural icon.

Alright, we have quite the collision of movies. First, taking over the top spot in theaters is one of the greatest action movies ever and the best buddy cop movie of all-time in Lethal Weapon. Starring Danny Glover, Mel Gibson and Gary Busey it had an all-star cast behind the camera with director Richard Donner and writer Shane Black who will also star in a number one film later in 1987. The film would spawn a franchise with three sequels, a TV series and a long, long list of copycats who will never, ever come close to this classic.

Lethal Weapon hold the box office for three weeks and that's a good thing for This Week In Vice. Also released at the same time is Heat starring Burt Reynolds, the Coen Brothers crime comedy Raising Arizona and one of my top 5 favorite movies ever, EVER in Evil Dead II from Sam Raimi and staring the one, the only Bruce Campbell. More on these movies in the coming weeks.

Don’t let the goofy name of this episode fool you, this is a solid episode of Miami Vice. We have a brutal bad guy who is is being paid by drug dealers to launder money. But instead he murders the drug dealers, keeps the cash and lives a life of high paranoia. This episode is not about Dykstra and his secret cash making scam. Instead we get a really, REALLY good story about a tech expert who accidentally finds himself caught between the Vice team and Dykstra.

John has a lot of fun with the music segment, including the return of Buck Buck Willis. Melissa is concerned about Izzy, he looks really sick. Dominic on the other hand goes off the rails about the end of this episode and gets preachy about the episode getting preachy.

Its an episode of Miami Vice that causes some real debate among your hosts!

Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat the Vice team gets help from high end technology to bust a cash smuggler in the episode Lend Me An Ear. On This Week in Vice we'll be covering the when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from Feb. 23 to March 1, 1987, when Miami Vice was King.

On Feb. 25, the NCAA delivered the "death penalty" to Southern Methodist University football team, canceling the entire 1987 season and all home games in the 1988 season. Eventually SMU would cancel the rest of their 1988 season and would feel the effects of the punishment for decades. The investigation stemmed from a "slush fund" that paid players and their family to come to SMU.

Bon Jovi is still dominating the charts with their smash hit Livin' on a Prayer, so its back to the archives. This week we're gonna double dip. At number 7 on the Hot 100 is Respect Yourself by the one and only Bruce Willis. Not only is this song hanging out in the Billboard top 10 and is performed by an actor who previously appeared in Miami Vice, but this song is also featured in this weeks episode. Check out the music segment in this Friday's Go With The Heat to get John's breakdown on Buck Buck's biggest hit.

In case you didn't know, 1987 is an amazing year for movies. Throughout the year, tent pole films will hold the top spot at the box office, but so many great movies were released I'm going to be mentioning more than one a week in many instances. This week is a perfect example. Replacing Platoon at the top is Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors starring Heather Langencamp, Patricia Arquette and Larry Fishburne. Written by Wes Craven the film returns to its roots where Freddy seeks revenge against the children of the people who burned him.

Also playing in theaters is Some Kind of Wonderful. Starring Eric Stoltz, Mary Stuart Masterson and Lea Thompson the plot is a coming of age love story that finds three people caught in a love triangle. The movie is is produced by the great John Hughes and is directed by Howard Deutch, the pair behind Pretty In Pink.
