  • Require God as your Vital Necessity

The Amplified Bible is the ONLY translation that uses the phrase “vital necessity” in our relationship with and to God: Jeremiah 29:13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. What things do you consider a vital necessity in your life? In other words, what can’t you live without? Most people would immediately think of food, water and shelter; but in reality, we can’t really live unless our minds and hearts are set on seeking the Lord.

  • Hunger for God - Vital Necessity

Hunger and thirst are natural expressions of the basic human desire and need for food and water. One of the clear indicators that something is wrong physically is when we lose our appetite. It is the same spiritually. How Can You Stay Hungry for God? The word “hunger,” by definition, means, “having a strong desire, craving, displaying the need for food.” In reality, however, hunger is not just for food, but humans also crave physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual nourishment. Jesus said: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God” (Luke 4:4)

  • God’s presence as your Vital Necessity

Living with a conscious awareness of God’s presence will keep us serving faithfully. An awareness of His closeness will remind us that He is the Sovereign and that we are the servants.. The most common Hebrew term for "presence" is panim, which is also translated "face, " implying a close and personal encounter with the Lord. God's presence carries a wide range of meaning. It may be something people fear. Adam and Eve's sinfulness drove them to hide from the Lord in the garden of Eden ( Genesis 3:8). God's presence provides comfort in times of trouble or anxiety ( Joshua 1:5 )
