How did you feel the last time a coffee mug slipped from your hands and shattered on your kitchen floor? I’m betting at the very least it was probably some combination of surprise and annoyance. If it was an heirloom or an otherwise sentimental piece, you may have even felt extremely guilty and disappointed as you swept up the shards.

In Japan, instead of tossing these pieces in the trash, some craftsmen practice the 500-year-old art of kintsugi, or “golden joinery,” which is a method of restoring a broken piece with a lacquer that is mixed with gold, silver, or platinum.

If you need answers from God is more likely that you get them at God’s house than anywhere else. Romans 12:1 commands us to present our bodies as living sacrifices to God.We do not come together for Sunday worship service to experience an emotional response that brings joy to us as consumers, though many Westerners gather for this very reason. Rather, we gather because God has united us. We gather because we live life together in being effective witnesses to our local communities.

The priest of the old Testament could use the urim and thummin to determine God’s will in a particular situation. We are not exactly sure what the urim and thummin were, but the priest carried in his breastplate perhaps two sticks or stones, one white and the other black, that would give a yes or no answer to a specific question. I believe God wants to speak and the way he does it may slightly change but we should use the principle of asking God simple yes and no questions and leave the big picture to Him

How can I know when God is telling me to do something? Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him… - Psalm 37:7 The primary way God commands us is through His Word.  We also have the Holy Spirit to discern what is, or is not, God’s will for our lives. God can also use people or circumstances to speak to us

Israel was in a dark and desperate place. They had fallen from grace and lost their way. They had actually chosen to go their way and do their own thing apart from God. They thought they knew better so they did their own thing.

Get Answers from God 

•Be willing to let God answer for His own purpose.

•We must be willing to let God answer in His own way.

•You must be willing to let God answer in His own time.
