Genuine love is not convenient but sacrificial. It will cost you and sometimes hit you where it hurts. Sacrificial love requires that we set aside ourselves, set aside our own desires, needs, wants, pride etc for the benefit of others. Jesus made sacrifices and gave himself up for us. “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
