The "thief on the cross" has long been lauded by those who refuse to accept the Biblical doctrine of the essentiality of baptism for the forgiveness of sins and subsequent salvation under the New Covenant (Matt. 26:27-28, 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-16; Acts 2:38, 22:16; 1 Ptr. 3:21; and etc), as an example of "baptism-less" conversion; forgetting (or omitting)of course, as they do, that the thief on the cross lived and died under the OLD covenant, and not the new (Hebs. 9:15-17).

However, there is so much more to the account of the "thief on the cross" than simply seeking to wrongly use him as an example to support such a false and fallacious doctrine! Give a listen and see for yourself...

After listening to this lesson, remember that for those who have been baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins as God requires (Acts 2:38, 22:16; 1 Ptr. 3:21), that you are no longer one of those walking in darkness, walking/living dead as Scripture pictures them. Because, “In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses…” (Col 2:11-13).
