Sometimes we aren't where we long to be.
Our jobs don't seem as meaningful as we hope. Our educations feel mundane. Even our family life doesn't always seem to live up to the Norman Rockwell ideal.
And God has a LOT to say about that. How we are to LEARN contentment, how we musn't despise the days of small beginnings- and so much of these lessons are learned from David's assent to the throne of Israel.
At the beginning of our study today, we find David not yet King of Israel but in a seven-year waiting period while skirmishes were underway for the throne. In that time, we see him relying on the Lord and not grabbing for power, as other historical leaders were prone to do.
Turn to 2 Samuel 5 as we continue to learn how David went on "going and growing" on his assent to the throne! (RAR2024EP03)
