Just like everyone else I rushed to get my Disney+ Subscription on Launch Day so I could peep the Mandalorian. I will have to say I was not disappointed but I will have to say all future Star Wars related material better be top notch and keep the audience involved because this had a couple of moments, I was like wait a minute and had a couple of side jokes in my head. The bottom line it is a story from a corner of the Star Wars universe that is not connected to those damn Skywalker’s.  The empire is shattered and there is no mention of the 1st Order so it probably takes place after Jedi but before the Force Awakens.

Seeing this I can say it lives up to the promise of having a Western Bounty Hunter Style show and the twist at the end really had me like oh snap I have to watch this series because it can only escalate from here so I hope they keep this story line interesting.

I don’t want to give it an individual rating because right now the jury is still out on the series as a whole.

Netflix Original content is doing it’s best to connect to as many different audiences as they can. They are spending money and getting top dollar talent. I mean outside of Harlem Knights where can you find so many top names in Black Entertainment?

Sometimes it feels like I can’t keep up with everything that comes out related to all the nerdy goodness out there. With the stuff from the comic books, movies, and television all competing with each other how do I make sense of it?

There are some interesting things dropping let’s talk about a few:

Warner Bros animation is on a par all its own when it comes to superhero cartoon adaptations. While they are mostly Batman centric and this one is set within that same Batman centric universe.  Warner Bros took a leap of faith on the popularity of Gal Gadot’s live action success and bang here we have one of the most interesting adaptations of Wonder Woman’s origin story I have ever watched.

In Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Amazon princess Diana of Themyscira chooses to save fighter pilot Steve Trevor and return him to his home in America – setting in motion one of Wonder Woman’s most captivating chapters. Fulfilling the role of both ambassador as well as protector, Diana soon earns the name Wonder Woman from the gracious people of Earth. Equally strong in body, heart and will, she makes it her mission to help a troubled young girl enlisted by a deadly organization known as Villainy, Inc., whose criminal members have their sights set on invading Themyscira, Diana’s paradise home. Prepare for a thrilling quest packed with brutal battles, mysterious mythology and endless wonder!

Warner Bros always seems to double down on certain superhero properties. We always seem to get Superman, Batman and all the possible derivatives you can deal with over time. This movie is another derivative of the Batman mythos as told from the side of one of his most iconic villains.

Ang Lee caught hell when he made that Hulk movie in 2003, but he bounced back with Life of Pi, and Brokeback Mountain. Pairing him up with Jerry Bruckheimer (as Producer) who has always had success with Will Smith in action films gives us the film Gemini Man.

Originally conceived in 1997, the film went through development hell for nearly 20 years. Different directors and the top action stars to include Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Sean Connery were all set to play the title role.

Marvel and Sony making up like estranged lovers and movie theaters are putting out restrictions and warnings about the upcoming Joker film. The big movie studios are trying to do everything they can to make as much money as possible at the expense of our emotions as fans.

Television has changed so much since I was a child, that was a relatively long time ago to many people. There were only a few channels and I didn’t know about cable until I grew much older. Now there will be more choices than ever.

But, Batman (Bruce Wayne) is one of the most loved or overrated depending on your viewpoint. Also over the years we have had so many different versions of the character along with so many classic storylines that keeps this guy going and going. Let’s discuss what I think are some interesting “Batmen” and one of the best storylines ever involving Batman and his 80-year-old self.
