About this Track...

First, I played the drum beat on a Roland SPD-SX PRO, and set this sound source to BFD3's Soul type settings.

I started with a rough sketch without a motif, and wanted to add a kick to create an anticipatory feel.

During the pre-production stage, I layered the over section down, and finally recorded the bass.

The bass is a sadowsky metroline MV4 with an AvalonU5 connected to the mixer and then sent to the SSL12.

The guitar I use is a Mustang with a full-valve Marshall head and a home-made clean booster connected to the send and return. This also flows from the head's DI OUT to the mixer.

The organ was a Yamaha YC61 with a progressive setting.

I use Arturia's minibrute2 as the lead synth. Anything that requires fine pitch adjustment, including this one, is tuned by connecting it to the Korg pitchblackproX.

The power supply has also been changed to AV-P250LUV tascam, so it is very stable. I added brass with UVI's Falcon3. I use korgSV1 as my master keyboard.

I tried combining only three very simple instruments.

People often get under the illusion that they have to do a lot of overdubbing, but a different approach is always important.

非常にシンプルな３つだけの楽器を合わせてみました。

人はしばしば、多くの多重録音を行わないといけないかのような錯覚に陥りますが、異なるアプローチが大切なのです、常に。

ポップでファンク、リズムポケットの妙、お互いみてないようで見てるんかい！という掛け合い。

リズム隊はややNeoSoulにありそうな揺れを意識しました。ドラムのキックとSyncClock、それぞれをトリガーにアナログシンセがミョンミョン鳴る様に仕込んであります。

大分おこがましく、若干ハービー・ハンコック73'のヘッドハンターズのテイスト。

この頃は本当に！どれも素晴らしいプレイヤーばかり。

ジミヘンのジプシーズフィルモアイーストの盤が70年に、クラプトンの461 Ocean Boulevardが74年。

改めて好きな年代です。

①基本的にベーシスト思想なので、ベースがカッコいい曲。イナタイ感じを求め、手元のプリアンプはスルーしてます。出来るだけ弾かずして、ドラムのポケットに入っていく感じでプレイ。

② E.DrumsはHipHopキットみたいなのを作成。アコースティックのドラムに808の音をレイヤー、さらにパラアウトでキックがアナログシンセのSAW波をトリガーするようにしています。

③シンセにはキックからのトリガーとは別にGate信号でSyncさせたLFOが2基シーケンスするようにしています。

④ウワモノのエンジンは真ん中のマシン。下の鍵盤からトリガーしています。(オルガンの時は真ん中の鍵盤で演奏)

エレピは下がステイしている間は自由にボイシングしています。

P.fのバッキングパターンは最後まで悩みましたが、今回この様な感じに。

⑤ ギターが随分地味ですが、左右2トラック入ってます。左が裏メロ、右がワウカッティング。

台風7号はダーティな気だるさと、風鈴の音と、私にメロディを与えてくれました。
