  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 57: Cheech Marin

Comedian and legend Cheech Marin ... yes, the Cheech of Cheech & Chong visited the Big Dumb Show on January 30, 2004, just shortly after Tommy Chong went to federal prison for selling bongs. Yes, it was a different time.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 56: Aisha Tyler

The amazingly awesome Aisha Tyler was our guest on January 16, 2004. So, this wasn't too long after she made "Talk Soup" her own, and her turn as the ‘Black girl from ‘Friends.’

She shares all kinds of cool stuff from her childhood as a young metal-head in the Bay Area, and she's clearly impressed by Don Stuck's banjo skills.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 55: Brian Noonan

Comedian Brian Noonan visits on December 19, 2003. He arrives fresh off of landing a big-money gig in a Prestone commercial, reviews his resuscitation preferences, and shares his holiday plans, among other things.

Don Stuck is already on vacation, so Angela is filling in at the traffic desk. (You may remember her from the Love Doll Launch featured in Flashback 35.)

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 54: Bobcat Goldthwait

In this visit from December 12th, 2003, we're talkin' about pretty much everything with actor/comedian and late-night television arsonist, the irreverent and iconic Bobcat Goldthwait. A true legend in the world of stand-up, Bobcat has been a trailblazer in the comedy scene for decades. So, we're not entirely sure why he's slummin' it on our show, but we were always thankful for his time.

With a career that spans numerous comedy specials, memorable film roles, and a reputation for pushing the boundaries of comedy, Bobcat's unique and thought-provoking style has made him a favorite for many.

Show note: Beau was absent for this one, presumably on vacation. (The photo's from a previous Bobcat appearance on January 31st, 2002.)

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 53: Talking To The Dead with Marilene Isaacs

We spent part of our Halloween morning of 2003 with Indy's leading psychic lady, Marilene Isaacs.

Ok, more officially, "psychic and spiritual healer" Marilene is kind of an Indianapolis legend, and has helped more than 40,000 people, animals, and places.

With Halloween being when the metaphysical barrier between the world of the living and the world of the dead is thinnest, she was kind enough to put up with our nonsense.

Plus, a glimpse of the movies that were out for Halloween 2003 when Patty Spitler makes a brief visit.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 52: Halloween with Sammy Terry and The Fuglees

Bob Carter, the man with the skull cap, cape, and dish-washing gloves, passed away at age 83 on June 30, 2013. From 1962 to 1989, Don Stuck tuned in religiously for Sammy Terry on Indy's WTTV Channel 4 “Nightmare Theater.” And that's how Sammy became a friend of the show, and joined us on this Halloween morning in 2003.

Trivia: Carter wore a black windbreaker for the first episode of “Nightmare Theater”, and the creepy coffin was actually a coffee table.

Here's a couple of shots of Sammy Terry from another in-studio appearance.

Halloween is pretty much the only Holiday actually recognized by The Big Dumb Show, so it was appropriate that we were also joined by the Greatest Band in the History of Recorded Music, The Fuglees.

Here’s some pictures of the Halloween festivities later that night at the now-closed Birdy’s Live  in Indianapolis.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 51: Mark Klein

We're pretty sure that Mark Klein is the only regular guest of the Big Dumb Show that is a thoroughbred race horse owner. He's also got a B.A. in English. And still, he always seemed to have fun entertaining the alt-rock kids of Indianapolis.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 50: Marc Maron

Comedian Marc Maron holds the record for most appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien … over 40 … so, we were always honored when he’d take a few moments to slum it with us on the Big Dumb Show.

In this turn from October 22, 2003, Beau is on vacation so Fat Johnny has moved in, presumably to use the news computer to view pornography.Of course, Marc was one of the first in the podcasting pool, and WTF with Marc Maron does about 55 million listens per year, so I’m sure he’ll appreciate the link here.

  • Big Dumb Show Flashback 48: Ralph Harris

Comedian Ralph Harris got started in North Philadelphia and made it to the bright lights of Hollywood, living the dream as a successful comedian and actor. He's been on The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and Arsenio. So, clearly, he had way better things to do than be a regular guest on our show. But he was, and was always one of our favorites.

This visit is from early November, 2003.
