  • “How Shall the Young Secure Their Hearts?” by Greg Chandler
For the next two weeks, many American students will celebrate the completion of thirteen years of learning. Graduation is one of the first big milestones in life and is also a time that marks a significant transition from adolescence to adulthood. This important change is not without challenge and danger; thus, a young person should be prepared for the potential life-changing choices that will occur in the near future. God did not leave youth in the dark about how to prepare; in fact, the longest of the recorded psalms has a section specifically addressed to youth.

  • “Works Well Together” by Greg Chandler
One of a teacher’s greatest accomplishments is teaching children how to get along. Within any classroom, there are a host of personalities, differences in likes, and strong opinions. A skilled teacher helps children to see the strengths in one another and the ability to listen to alternate ideas from one’s own. To that end, “works well with others” has been a standard conduct grade category for many years. This sermon will explore this idea from a heavenly perspective. As God desires a holy people, what are His expectations for how members of this people get along? This idea, along with a discussion of how to implement these expectations, will be the topic of our study.

  • “Respects Authority” by Greg Chandler
One of the greatest gifts a parent can instill in a child is teaching him or her how and why to respect parental authority. When this lesson is learned, it prepares the child for other life situations where respecting authority is essential. Most importantly, it will help train a child to show respect to the Father in Heaven. As our Holy Conduct series continues, this study will focus on how we should view God's commands and our attitude toward His authority.

  • “Respects Others” by Greg Chandler
One of the challenges that teachers face is instilling a sense of respect in children. For this reason, conduct grades once evaluated a child on how well he or she “respects others.” The Bible also teaches the need for respect, both in attitudes toward God and fellow humans. One area, in particular, is the respect God demands for humans to have toward the opposite sex. This coming Sunday, a sermon entitled, “Respects Others” will explore the teachings of Jesus on purity of mind toward others. This study will focus on the responsibility of the thinker to keep his or her thoughts pure as well as how we can keep from presenting ourselves as stumbling blocks. If you would like to prepare ahead of time for this study, read Matthew 5:27-30.
