We will hire the OKG’s but I will also be willing to train them through regular Tony Talks.  Tony Talks are informative meetings designed to motivate, train and keep everybody accountable.

The Columbo Close is used when the client expressed disinterest in purchasing the product.  You don’t want to be a typical pushing salesperson and you sense  your decision maker is a bit skiddish so you may want to put them at ease.  Say goodbye so that the client thinks the sales call is over, then they drop their guard and the sales call is saved.  How did Peter Faulk do this?

Stay Aggressive.  Don’t ever relax, get after it!  The way you think or feel about something is essential in reaching your success.  Many people think that poor is a way of being but it’s just part of the journey.  If you are poor but hungry and driven to be successful, then you have a proper state of mind. 

Oh, the mission got canceled? Good… We can focus on another one.
Didn’t get the new high-speed gear we wanted? Good… We can keep it simple.
Didn’t get promoted? Good… More time to get better.
Didn’t get funded? Good… We own more of the company.
Didn’t get the job you wanted? Good… Go out, gain more experience, and build a better resume.
Got injured? Good… Needed a break from training.
Got tapped out? Good… It’s better to tap out in training than tap out on the street.
Got beat? Good… We learned.
Unexpected problems? Good… We have to figure out a solutions
