Postbank CEO Nikki Mbengashe has told the Portfolio Committee on Social Development that it is not realistic that all SASSA gold cards will be replaced with the Postbank black card by the already-extended deadline of March 20. Mbengashe then assured the committee that all the cards will be transitioned by 30 June 2025. However, the validity of the SASSA gold cards will not be extended any further, and that whose who have not yet managed to obtain the new Postbank cards will have to access their social grants by going to the Post Office.
