Hey Friends,

"It's like a movie but nobody has any lines and nobody even knows what it is while they're making it."

We managed to catch Dean Fleischer-Camp's/A24's heartwarming adaptation of the viral stop-motion plucky shell with shoes, "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On" (2022) starring Jenny Slate, Dean Fleischer-Camp, and Isabella Rossellini. It's such a charming film and a deep dive in grief, heartbreak, and risk.

Hey Friends,

"Try Laughing. Then Whatever Scares You Will Go Away." We sat down to watching the 2006 dub of Studio Ghibli's/Hayao Miyazaki's extremely charming "My Neighbor Totoro" because Jon hasn't seen it. Did he like it (better than "Spirited Away")? Maybe. listen to find out!

Hey Friends,

We went the Harris to see IFC's/Andrew Semans' new psychological thriller "Resurrection" sees a woman's (Rebecca Hall) carefully constructed life gets upended when an unwelcome shadow from her past returns (Tim Roth), forcing her to confront the monster she's evaded for two decades. It's beautifully shot. But is it one of the most discomforting films we've seen?

Content Warning: This film features imagery and discussion of the death of a child

Hey Friends,

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Thor (Natalie Portman) team up with Korg (Taika Waititi) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) chase down yet another devastated parent-turned-villain, this time, Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) in Taika Waititi's/Marvel Studio's "Thor: Love and Thunder" aka the gayest MCU movie. Literally. But is it any good?

Hey Friends,

Amazon Studio's/Alan Ball's gay-trauma-gut-punch "Uncle Frank" had us sobbing for the last third of the movie. Set in the mid 70's Frank (Paul Bettany is joined by is niece, Beth (Sophia Lillis) and partner, Wally (Peter Macdissi), on his return home for his father's funeral. This is definitely the saddest movie we've watched for the show, so sad-content warning.
