Are you holding out on your happiness? What are you waiting for? Is your happiness somewhere in the future rooted in some other place, time or event? Mine was. I moved to Texas 1 year ago and while I enjoy it and love my life with my husband, I held out on settling in. My mind told me-we could move at any moment, no need to get a bunch of furniture you'll have to move again. I said Texas is ok, but I can't wait to get back to Washington-where we'd moved from. I'm here to tell you that coming back to WA for a visit has been incredible in more ways than one. I thought I'd get here and wouldn't want to leave. I thought there was some magic in the cold water and the trees that would click in my spirit. It didn't. Reality clicked. I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. And I'm ready to accept and embrace it fully. But where to start? By being where you're at. Ram Das said BE HERE NOW.
What you do today will impact your tomorrow, so do your best today. But don't waste this precious day imagining or worrying about what was or will be. Today is a gift. Each moment is sacred. Be here now. Now here be. 4 tips to be happy today in the here and now and embrace your life as it is: 1. Focus on now, notice surrounding, your breath, where your body is. 2. Smile, appreciate the little things and give thanks. 3. Service, random acts of kindness and compliments. 4. Get out of your head and into your life, practice mindfulness while breathing, walking, showering, cooking, cleaning & eating.
