A 23-year-old cartographer is working on a detailed wall map of Saskatchewan. Alex McPhee, a professional cartographer based in Grasslands National Park, is developing a detailed reference map of the province to follow his award-winning map of Alberta. He's already invested more than 500 hours into the project, and hopes to publish it this summer. McPhee joins John to tell us how a map gets made, how he got started in cartography, and why it's still an important field in the era of GPS and Google Maps.

Chris Joseph, a former NHL player who lost his son Jaxon in the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash, is part of a group of parents who support the CBSA's decision to move forward with Singh Sidhu's deportation. Joseph says he feels justice is being served in the case, and the decision is helping him reach closure. Joseph says he doesn't wish any ill upon Sidhu, but believes the decision will send a strong message that there are serious consequences for endangering the lives of others. Joseph joins Gormley to share his thoughts on the decision.

The Conservative Leadership race is heating up, with Jean Charest officially entering the race Thursday, and Patrick Brown expected to make his candidacy official this weekend. But the candidate who perhaps resonated most with the people of Saskatchewan during the last leadership race was Leslyn Lewis, then a political outsider but now an established MP representing Haldimand-Norfolk. Lewis, who was born in Jamacia and was the first visible minority woman to run for CPC leadership, joins Gormley to tell us about her campaign, her vision for Canada, and why she wants to replace Erin O'Toole.

The United Nations says more than 2.2 million people have now fled Ukraine during the Russian invasion, mostly women and children. Saskatchewan Immigration Minister Jeremy Harrison says he wants Saskatchewan to be the destination of choice for Ukrainian refugees, and the province is willing to accept an "unlimited" number. Harrison joins Gormley to tell us about his work to bring Ukrainians to safety in our province, and whether federal officials have been receptive to Saskatchewan's offer.

This weekend, skiers and snowboarders in Saskatchewan will have a chance to join the Canadian Ski Patrol, to learn about the work the volunteer organization performs on the slopes and trails around the province. Ski With the Patrol Day will be held March 12 at five different Saskatchewan ski hills, giving anyone a chance to accompany ski patrollers during their regular duties and learn about some of the interesting tools and techniques that are a part of the job. Anyone can join the patrol as long as they are 18 years old and at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder, and John Humbert with the Canadian Ski Patrol joins Gormley to tell us more about the work he does.
