COVID-19 has highlighted some of the stark shortcomings of Canada's healthcare system. Dr. Shawn Whatley, physician and fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, says Canadians should be asking why we're faced with a choice between lockdowns and overrun hospitals 11 months into the pandemic. If we'd used our time and resources wisely, Whatley says we'd be having much different conversations about the necessity of lockdowns and restrictions. Dr. Whatley joins Gormley to tell us more.

A Canadian cannabis CEO is suing the federal government over the new travel restrictions requiring Canadians returning home to quarantine at their expense at a government-approved hotel. Dominic Colvin is currently in Saint Martin in the Caribbean, and his lawsuit argues that the new measures are unconstitutional and amount to arbitrary detention. Jeff Rath is representing Colvin in the lawsuit, and he joins Gormley to tell us more.
