God's desire is to warmly embrace every sinner, no matter how great the sin, when in humility they return to God. In this sermon Jesus shares a story of how great is the love of God and how accepting Christians should be of broken people coming into the family of God.

Jesus in this passage challenges us to put aside all of our other concerns and put reaching out to share the good news at the top of our list of priorities. We are to work hard and cross any barrier to share with people the love of Christ.

Jesus was so popular, crowds followed him everywhere waiting for the next exciting miracle to happen. In this passage Jesus outlines some hard truths people need to accept if they want to be more then a face in the crowd and truly be his disciple.

Jesus is transforming us into his image and likeness. When we read in the bible of the love of God that reached across racial, gender, and social barriers to bring the good news, we are called to that same love and commitment.
