Gotham Blotter

Gotham is owning it right now, and this episode gave us pretty much everything we wanted from the show. New supervillain? Check. Mafia warfare? Check. Cop Banter? Check. Zsasz? CHECK!!! What a great return to form that gets Eric and Levi super stoked for the rest of the season. Let’s do this!

Gotham is back! This episode left us a little perplexed, a little excited, and ultimately entertained. We got to venture into the inner workings of Arkham Asylum, where nurses hide in basements for decades, mean bosses rule with an iron fist, and montages happen! Harvey was great, as always. Barb was deflating, as always. And Jim was…Jim…as always. Welcome to the home stretch. Let’s chat.

What an episode! Episode 10 of Gotham seemed to neatly braid together the frayed edges of the Gotham universe, made a badass out of Falcone and Alfred, and left Gordon in an interesting place. Needless to say, an episode this good needed a full roster of podcasters to gab about it, so Eric and Levi are joined by Jesse for this edition of the Gotham Blotter. This was definitely a fall finale worth talking about.

Eric and Levi had wildly different opinions about this episode. On one hand, it was a big-time character development episode that moved the plot forward. On the other hand, it was a little sleepy. But in the end, this episode served as a great set-up for the Fall finale. Let’s go!

This was our favorite episode so far. It had the right mix of cool villains, a fast-moving plot, and Edward Nigma. It was everything we wanted from a Gotham episode, but was it…enough? FIND OUT!

The consensus best episode of Gotham so far brought us a lot of answers. Some of those answers were to questions we didn’t even know we were asking, but they were answers nonetheless. Lots of action, lots of plot, and lots of stuff we liked. This was without a doubt one of the seminal moments in the Gotham timeline. Where will it go from here?

This week, Aron joins Eric and Levi to chat about this roller-coaster episode of Gotham. We loved the Bullock, Penguin, and Nygma plots, but Montoya, Allen, and Barb left something (ahem…motivation, story, common sense) to be desired. I think this was the first episode of Gotham (for me) that was worse than the episode before it. Bummer, man. But there was also a lot of good stuff too. Let’s hope they set up a pasta strainer, run off the murky water, and keep the delicious pasta penne.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Geez, what an up and down episode of Gotham! We fell like this show gave us the best of what Gotham can be – but it also might have given us the worst of what Gotham can be. Here’s the instant take, full take late Wednesday, and we need your input (’cause we don’t really know what to make of this…).

Five episodes deep, and we think it’s safe to say that Gotham has hit it’s stride. Characters are developing, plots are twisting, and the world is really taking shape. And this week, we get a prequel to Bane, pickles on our sandwich, and a lobster dinner. Plus, we carve out more of the conspiracy corner with some operatic clues.

What a show! Easily the best episode of Gotham (in our opinion). In this instant take, we cover the birth of Bane, the dawn of Bruce, the fishiness of Mooney, the painted corner of Jim, and we tighten our tinfoil hats for Alfred. Get it while it’s hot!
