Saint Lucian teachers involved in a recent TVET Teacher Immersion Programme of the Ministry of Education’s Human Capital Resilience Project are now prepared to offer more TVET subjects at the secondary level, following a recent graduation exercise at the Mount of Prayer in Coubaril.
The National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) said the Security Interest in Movable Property Bill will spur increased economic activity within the local business community.
The Bill is intended to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and is a critical step towards a cohesive and inclusive system to promote access to finance and growth within the small business sector. MSMEs will now be able to use their movable assets to secure financing from financial institutions. This new legislation is expected to positively impact national productivity and competitiveness.
Saint Lucia's forensic science laboratory is the first in the OECS to be accredited; the Development Control Authority calls for a collective approach to building resilience; and the Ministry of Health implements programmes to support residents affected by the flash floods.
