Dandelions have this tenacity that many other plants don't have and I believe that is a good comparison to what a person will be like when God's Holy Spirit resides in us and we begin to operate on his strength. The early Church grew as a result of individuals being open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. What would our lives look like today if we did likewise? Read Acts chapter 11 and see how these people received a strictly inclusive message about the love of God and how they reacted to challenges.

Epiphany comes from the Catholic Calendar but has some great meaning in the tradition. It comes from a Greek word for manifestation or appearance. For many Christians, Epiphany refers to the manifestation of the divine nature of Jesus and is marked by a feast day Jan. 6. But the word "epiphany" has another popular meaning: a sudden flash of understanding or insight.

We recognize in Christ all things are being made new and we eagerly anticipate God’s redemptive work to take place in all of creation. We are in a time period that some call the already and not yet because we live in the tension of a world where Christ conquered death and sin but we still live in world where God's Kingdom is not yet fully realized. Hope says that God is with us!

What's a big life change you made? Job change, moving homes, education, etc. Even the biggest change doesn't come close to what takes place when someone decides to follow Jesus. In Acts 9 we see the transformation of the apostle Paul. It was both a process and a moment and in the episode we unpack that a bit.

In what areas of life are you impulsive? Does your faith move into action as a result of thorough investigation or is it an impulsive reactionary feeling based faith? Acts 8 gives us a story to reflect on.

Ever had to stand for something you believe in? We see in Acts chapter 7 a man named Stephen die for his faith in Christ. People were so outraged by his words that they killed him. Does our faith get put to the test in such a way? What causes someone to die for something?
