our approach to church is key. If we come to get something and NOT give something the mission of the church stops.

What you discovered in Jesus is to be shared. That’s not optional.

Why so harsh? Because there are people (broken and hurting) who need you and what you bring to the table. Acts chapter 6 presents a need and how the early church addressed it.

This weeks passage is in Acts 5 and tells the story of Ananias and Sapphira and we, and many of you probably have, often struggle with passages like this and have big questions after reading it. Hopefully our understanding of scripture helps you gain a more expansive view of scripture and how stories like this might still teach us something about the bigger picture of who God is.

Taking life's unique moments to speak life into others is a great opportunity. We are given opportunities each day when others ask "how are you doing" or "what have you been up to" to share what God has been doing in our lives. Will we step into these moments? Acts 4 describes a moment in history when Peter and John share about who God is.

The early believers gathered and began living in a particular way. They devoted or committed to consistently studying, fellowship, prayer and time eating together. In order to devote themselves to these practices they had to have listened to the Holy Spirit for what to do and how to live. We can have a tendency to listen to the culture when it comes to making our priorities in life. This study can inspire a life giving pattern of living. Dig in with us as we unpack Acts 2:42-48

Ever been confused about the concept of the Holy Spirit? Us too. We don't want to claim to have all the answers but in this lesson we dive into some basics about how to listen and hear God. Another way of viewing the Holy Spirit is the "personal presence" of God. His presence can guide and lead us when we listen carefully.

What difficulties are you currently facing? Jesus shows us how to live within the challenges life throws at us and shine our light in the midst of it. Why is it that some Christians seem to have such a sense of peace even under testing circumstances? They have learned that God is working in and though them. How will you let your light shine today?

Raising resident aliens. This week we started the conversation about what it means to raise the next generation of Christ followers. What patterns and practices and have put in place to model the love of Christ on regular basis?

Is your job a "secular job?" Is there such a thing as sacred vs secular? Or is all of life meant to be a continuous mission to love God and love others?

Practices shape us. Our culture has practices or disciplines that shape us everyday. Just look at advertising. It works! We as a church have spiritual practices that help shape us.
