Isaiah 40-66 are some of the most beautiful portions of literature ever written. The comfort they give are what will lift heart and soul. The primary lift comes from finding our comfort not in our circumstances or our achievements, but in the greatness of God.----This is a primary theme in chapters 40-66 and will be our theme in the worship service tomorrow and in the sermon as we dive into Isaiah 40

When oppressed or slandered, we take solace in the fact that God is the ultimate Judge. And yet, that is a two-edged sword. God will judge all - including you and me. So we must be ready based on the provision of the Gospel. The world has grown in its rebellion against God and needs to be cleansed.

The Lord uses the image of a tree branch to paint the next portrait for Messiah for us. We learn about the sprout of a tree that will be a glorious Branch, providing shelter for multitudes. In Christ we have this Comfort, and find much benefit from the fruit of the Branch.
