After Ezekiel supplicates to God on the behalf of his people, God gives him a response- their sin is exceeding great, the land is filled with innocent blood, and the city is full of perversion.

We have been continually instructed in this chapter to -Walk worthy of the calling wherewith we have been called- which is in humility, gentleness of spirit, longsuffering, forbearing one another in love- each member of the body of Christ using the gift that they have been given, which are given to the church to ultimately build up the body -Till we all come in...the knowledge of the Son of God.

Jesus upon seeing the multitudes gave commandment to his disciples to set sail for the other side. While preparing to leave two men come to him, one a scribe, the other a disciple. Both of these men teach us that there is a cost to -following Jesus.-

Ezekiel upon seeing the great destruction and so many of his brethren perishing, and considering that God had spared him, fell upon his face and pleads God's mercy for his brethren.

The gift each member has been given wherewith to edify the body of Christ is to be -Till we all come in the unity of the faith.

Jesus enters into Peter and Andrew's house and they find Peter's mother-in-law sick with a very high fever. Jesus touches her and rebukes the fever and immediately she is healed. That evening he heals all that are sick who come to him.

In verse 8 of this passage, Ezekiel says and -while they were slaying them, and I was left.- In this sermon we consider what Ezekiel expressed in saying -I was left.-

Unto everyone of us -local church members- he gave grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. He gave Apostles, prophets, evangelist and pastor-teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

In this passage of Scripture a Centurion, a Roman soldier is trouble over his young servant who lies sick with the palsy, and seeks out Jesus knowing that he has the power to heal.

The LORD said unto the six destroyers -Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain.- Fill the courts with dead bodies, that which was unclean to the whole nation of Israel.
