Is confession and forgiveness a get out of jail free card? does it mean that I can commit sin and get away with it each and every time simply by telling God I'm sorry?

While we all sin and come short of the Righteousness of God, there is no excuse for it, and God does not expect the believer to continue to walk in darkness. How then shall we recover when we sin against God?

How do you evaluate yourself?

as we evaluate ourselves according to our standards remember that we do so having a bias. we want to think of ourselves as good people. Moral and up right.

but if we evaluate ourselves in the light of how God sees us, according to the mirror of God’s word, we see a different picture.

we must learn to see ourselves as God sees us and adjust to God’s standards and not our own.

Morality can be a big stumbling block to spiritual growth. the Believers' moral standing may lead him to think that all is right between him and God. The moral person starts with himself in how good he is overlooking his own flaws. Having the right view of God and the light of God's word tells the truth of who we are and where we are in reference to the light.

As born again believers in Christ we are Children of light. But unfortunately many choose to reside in the darkness where they practice sin. walking in darkness is intimacy with sin. you become what you chose to hang around. More time you spend in the darkness more you become associated with that which is in the darkness. we must recognize who we are in Christ and conform to the light.

Today we examine the contrast between our sinful condition and the righteousness that comes from Christ. It highlights the two possible positions which the believer in Christ resides; the light or the darkness, and there are no in betweens.

Creation and the Garden of Eden - God creates man and places him in the garden where there was harmony with God

Sin and separation from God - How sin caused exile from the garden and breaks fellowship with God

The three phases of salvation:

Justification - Being saved from the penalty of sin56

Sanctification - Being saved from the power of sin (current process)

Glorification - Being saved from the presence of sin (future)

The concept of fellowship (Koinonia) - The close relationship with God and how sin disrupts it

Walking with God (Peripateo) - How believers should conduct their lives and live within God's boundaries

The spiritual life (Eusabia/godliness) - The importance of living under God's authority and growing spiritually

Koinonia

It can be a wonderful time to get together with fellow Christians in and outside of the Church participating in various activities. We might have a Church baseball league or bowling league. Of course there are picnics and trips we might take, and all of that is enjoyable.

But when the bible speaks of fellowship it is not speaking of none of these things.

Fellowship has less to do with what you are doing in life among your fellow believers and more to where you are to be living in our spiritual lives.

Fellowship or Koinonia is the living in the boundaries of God’s law, growing in grace of God to a place of maximum glorification of God in our lives.

Yes we are saved by grace through faith. The moment that we are born again we have left the darkness and moved into the light. we are saved from hell and can look forward to a life in Christ in Heaven. but why do so many Christian's want to live in darkness which they came out of?
