Even though we know that Jesus is risen, we can still be haunted by the failures of our past. Jesus’ resurrection power provides us hope for the moments of indifference or feelings of inadequacy in our life. The Gospel calls us to obey in faith and respond in love.

The purpose of the Gospel of John is to demonstrate what Jesus did and therefore teach us who he is. The person and work of Jesus Christ demands a response. Who do you say Jesus is? Will you believe?

The Fact that Jesus came back in bodily form not only promises us hope to be with Him again, but it emboldens us to live on mission for Him now! He is alive and brings us power, peace and purpose.

The Gospel is the miraculous story of God reconciling us to Himself through the accepted payment of Jesus Christ. We know we are forgiven because of the resurrection of Jesus. When we place our faith in Him, we are given hope for the fear we face and joy that surpasses sorrow.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the linchpin of the entire Christian faith. Without it, our faith would be “Futile” (1 Cor. 15:17). When we are facing distress, disorientation, and disengagement in our faith, we can look to the power of God in the resurrection of Jesus Christ for help and hope. 

The Word of God is used to refer to the Bible and to Jesus Christ. Christ verifies the Bible and the Bible calls us to faith in Christ. There is a necessary interdependence of the Bible and Christ that demands a decision of faith in us. We must believe in Jesus and live a life that is evident of that belief.
