Through Christ people can be freed from the tentacles of evil and the cosmic grasp of death and be ushered into the fullness of joy and life eternal through the Lord of life. Jesus invites people to know the eternal love of the Godhead, be full of His joy, and participate in His life-giving work in the world. We must live with a battle-ready mindset but a mission-ready heart.

The Gospel clearly teaches that apart from Christ people are captives in the “Dominion of darkness” (Colossians 1:13) and enslaved to the “prince of the power of the air" (Ephesians 2:2). Yet the glory of Christ gives us power over these things by securing for our salvation as He is reigning overall at the right hand of God.

Peace is not just a longing of the 70’s. It is a daily desire for all of us. We strive to overcome our busyness or relational strife so that we can have peace. Jesus offered us peace that is founded in His nature. He is peace and has overcome the world (John 16:33). In this message, we identify specific ways the peace of Christ can cure our anxiety.

Jesus said that He came to give us life — but not a sub-par life that lacks joy and peace. Rather, He was offering us a way to live without worry and anxiety and trust Him to be our true source of joy and satisfaction. In this message, we identify that no person, power, or evil can steal the joy that Christ offers us.

Be encouraged by Christ’s forewarning and be hopeful because of His promise of the Holy Spirit.  

Since we were kids we have valued friendship. Even in first grade we talked about our “Best friend” and throughout life we seek to maintain meaningful relationships. The most meaningful friendship of all is the one that we will share with Jesus. Friendship with Jesus is possible, and, in this message, we discover the invitation to steadily pursue an intimate friendship with Jesus.

Christ’s love for us is the seed of obedience. When it’s properly tended, it yields a harvest of obedience. This obedience is inseparable from the love which motivates it and the joy which results from it. To love Christ is to obey Him; to obey Christ is to love Him.
