The brutal death of Christ was part of God’s plan. He never lost control, hope, or power, yet He used His sovereign control to provide a way for sinners to be saved. When we understand the sad details of Jesus death, we can better understand the glorious love He displayed by fulfilling God’s mission to save us.

God delights to give good gifts to His children, chiefly the gift of the Holy Spirit who guides us in all truth and ignites our heart with God’s love (cf. Luke 11:13; John 16:13; Romans 5:5). If your heart is cold toward the realities of the Gospel, simply ask God to reignite your heart with a fresh understanding. In this message, we look at the beauty of God’s sovereign authority as seen in the death of Christ.

For many, we would look to Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John knowing that they are the Gospels of Jesus, but what about the rest of the books? To understand the Gospel fully, we need to understand from the beginning the character of God, how He created things to be, and how He desires to be in relationship with His creation. The Gospel is God, Our, Sins, Paying, Everyone, Life.

he Gospel proclaims that anyone who sins is a slave to sin, but those who by the Holy Spirit are risen to new life in Christ are freed to love and serve God. This service to God, although it requires self-denial and necessitates earthly suffering, nevertheless carries a priceless, eternal reward. The reward of God also begins in this life, however, and is given through the believers’ participation in God’s mission and the pursuit of His heart. 

Leading is a call of all Christians to work with Him and help others find Jesus. God invites His children into His mission for others’ sake, and in the process, they find the greatest joy and satisfaction in Him. The task of the believer is to remain open to the Holy Spirit’s invitation into God’s mission, and to receive His help to engage with the world. We use our salvation story to propel us to share God’s story with others.

Too often western Christianity is about education over discipleship or evangelism. We love to grow in our knowledge of God but lack in our application of what we know from His Word. In this message, we addressed what it means to follow Christ by taking up our Cross with Christ daily.
