Jonah found himself at literally his lowest point as he sank to the bottom of the sea. But in God's grace he was rescued and as he spent time in solace, he reflects on God's goodness and mercy to him despite his sinful failings. Join us as Tobias opens up Jonah 2 where we see how Jonah finds light in the darkness and resolves to worship God and follow His will.

The story of Jonah is familiar to many of us, but what can we still learn from it today? As we begin a new series on looking at God's radical grace in Jonah 1, Assistant Minister Glen Burns opens Jonah chapter 1 where we see how Jonah's lack of fear in the LORD leads to him running away from God's will. But despite his running, he cannot outrun God's will or purposes for him in his life.

We all hope for something. But what happens when our hope runs dry, and we become hopeless? The church in Thessalonica knew what they were saved from and were faithful to God, but their hope began to fade as the result of false teaching. But in chapters 4 and 5, Paul wants to remind them of the fulfillment of their salvation in Jesus as they look ahead to his return in hope. Join us as we conclude our series on 1 Thessalonians, where Glen shows us how Paul encourages the church in 1 Thess. 4:13-5:11 with the marks of a hopeful church.

Paul deeply cared for the church. In fact, he cared so much that he makes known his separation anxiety. But he does not allow his anxiety to cripple him from supporting the church. As we continue our series on 1 Thessalonians, Tobias opens up 2:17-3:13 where we see what the marks are of a caring church both in Thessalonica then, and also in Brockley today.

After praising the church in Thessalonica for their faith in Christ, Paul continues to urge them through his example to continue to be authentic believers. As we think about what it means to be an authentic today, Tobias takes us to 1 Thessalonians 2:1-16 where we see the marks of an authentic church.

The Thessalonican church had a rocky beginning. But despite their immediate opposition, they held firm to their faith and continued to remain steadfast to the gospel. As Paul opens his letter to the Thessalonians in Chapter 1, Tobias Brown shows us how they demonstrated the marks of a healthy church and how we, in response, should seek to live in the light of the gospel.

We hope every year to bring new beginnings and new hope, but it always feel the same with the same old troubles.  So how must we learn to live in the new year? As Tobias speaks from Luke 2:41-52, we will see how we can live with the vibrant faith in expectancy of what God will do in 2023.

When our heart longs to be released from the situation we find ourselves in... We feel trapped as our hopes wanes. This feeling of hopelessness was felt by the people of Israel when they were in exile and under the Babylonian threat. As Tobias takes us to Isaiah 64:9-12, we see how the people's longing for salvation and our longing today is fulfilled in the coming of Jesus at Christmas and his completed work through the cross.
