Worship led by the Youth. Jesus turns his attention to the Temple. Earlier in the week, Jesus had cleared the Temple, but now he predicted its utter destruction. The people wanted a Messiah, but Jesus preached that it would get worse.

What does the world see as important? What is really important? We should learn to see life as Jesus sees life.

The religious leaders question Jesus on many issues, and Jesus takes time to reset the spiritual perspective on worldly power dynamics. Jesus speaks the truth; do we believe him?

In this passage we see the reality of the situation with religious leaders. God gave them much and gave them responsibility. They used God’s gifts for their own benefit.

The Pharisees question Jesus' authority. This challenge is a result of Jesus clearing the Temple.

Part One: Mark 1:1-14. Jesus enters the Temple on the first day of Holy Week. He then curses a fig tree first thing the next morning. This sermon will be Part One of a two-part series of what happens when Jesus gets frustrated.
