    Where is the Peace?

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will to men!”  (Luke 2:1-20)

The peace is supposed to be on earth. That’s what the angels said. Jesus came to bring peace on earth. Peace on earth brings glory to God on the earth in the highest measure. Wherever the peace of Christ reigns God is glorified. Peace is a major part of His glory. Jesus walked in peace on this earth and it is in this that, “We beheld His glory.” (John 1:14)

Peace is when men have good will toward one another. Without good will toward all men there will be no peace on earth. Good will is the illusive thing among the sons of men. If you have good will toward men you can live in peace with them.

But this peace can only come through the Savior who is named by Isaiah, “The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)  Jesus is the Prince of Peace; He is the peace that passes all understanding. He is peace and He gives peace. That’s why He was born, why He died and what His reign produces. Jesus came to bring peace on earth by placing good will in the hearts of people for others... to read more click the following link:

    What Can the Devil Do?

I mean what can the devil do if you let him? And I don’t mean let him in the sense of giving him permission. Criminals don’t ask permission to rob and kill. We have things we can do to keep him at bay and if we don’t do them, he will steal, kill and destroy us and our loved ones. We must be vigilant in resisting him.

An old church catechism that dates back to 1646 says that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Far be it from me to say that a 400-year church creed is wrong, but how do we best glorify God? I’d rather go to the Bible to find man’s chief end, why God made and saved man. In Genesis 1:26 and Romans 8:29 it says that the chief end of man is to be like God, to bear His image, that we might have dominion over the earth (everything on it, in it and under it), to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

The chief end of man is to be like Jesus. That is what glorifies God. He glorified God in everything. When we think like Jesus we glorify God. When we speak like Jesus we glorify God. When we do the works of Jesus, that glorifies God. It glorifies God when we are healthy, because Jesus was healthy. It glorifies God when we do miracles because Jesus worked miracles. It glorifies God when we heal others, love others, lay down our lives for others, show compassion, speak the truth in love, cast out demons, because Jesus did all those things... to read more click the following link:  http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/12/what-can-the-devil-do

The Dead Girl and the Dying Woman

“Suddenly a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment; for she said to herself, ‘If only I may touch the hem of His garment, I shall be made well.’ But Jesus turned around and when He saw her He said, ‘Be of good cheer; your faith has made you well.’ And the woman was made well from that hour.” (Matthew 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48)

“But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.” (Mt.9:18-19, 23-26; Mk.5:22-24, 35-42; Lk. 8:41-42, 49-56)

Jesus said this concerning salvation: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible,” even the saving of a soul (Mt.19:26). What man cannot do, God can do. There are many things man cannot do. Try as I may, I cannot fly on my own. I cannot play basketball like Michael Jordan. I cannot be anything I want to be because I cannot do anything I want to do. I can be anything God wants me to be and I can do anything God wants me to do. He wants me to believe in Him and His Son, so I can. What He wants me to do He can give me the power to do. He wants me to repent, so by His grace and power I can repent. He is the author and finisher of our faith and He grants repentance.

What we are looking at in this passage of Scripture is Jesus doing something only God can do. And remember, what is impossible with men is possible with God: with God all things are possible. There are no impossibilities with God. In Jesus we have hope when there is no hope. Here are two helpless and hopeless cases. Jesus fixes both.

If you are in an impossible situation right now, with God all things are possible. There are no impossible situations with Jesus Christ. If your marriage is dead, if your love for your spouse is dead, He can resurrect your relationship and your love. He is the resurrection and the life. I have seen Him resurrect the deadest marriage. In marriage counseling I found out that the husband had done everything she asked, but she still committed adultery. It was ugly. These were leaders in our church. There was a horrible public court custody battle over their young son. Divorce came with hurt, devastation and ill-will. They both left our church. They moved. I heard about a year later from another pastor they had reconciled and were once again happily married and had begun visiting his church; in fact he had remarried them. I was breathless, and happy. I saw what God can do.

If you are jobless and broke, He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord Our Provider. He can make a way where there is no way. He is the Way-maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. When I was working three part time jobs trying to provide for my family during my college days, our cupboards and refrigerator were empty. I put seven rolls of pennies, the last cent we had on earth, as our tithe into the offering plate. Someone sitting on the same row at church looked down the row and concluded that must have been Linda and me. That afternoon I was studying the Bible on  my couch and I saw the top of somebody’s head go past our picture window. Somebody did not want to be seen. I opened the door and found about a dozen paper sacks full of groceries. I had caught the pastor’s wife. Our cupboards and refrigerator were full. That night at church people began walking up to me and stuffing money into every pocket I had. I left church that day with hundreds of dollars in my pocket. God had come through and I hadn’t told a soul about our predicament. He knew. And He met my family’s need.....

WHY I WANT GOD TO HEAL ME

    • “And great multitudes followed Him and He healed them all.” (Matthew 12:15)
    • “And the whole multitude sought to touch Him for power went out from Him and healed them all.”  (Luke 6:19)
    • “When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.”  (Luke 4:40)
    • “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.”  (Hebrews 13:8)

“Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?’” (John 11:40)

I know I cannot speak for everyone, but I can and do speak for me. Everyone wants to be healed when they are sick. Our medicine cabinets and health insurance premiums declare it. But most want to be healed just to feel better and not die. Those are not wrong reasons to want to be healed, but they are not the best reason.

I am not praying for God to heal me because I fear death. I am not afraid to die. God delivered me from the fear of death years ago when I woke up in the middle of the night with severe chest pains. I took some aspirin and crumbled onto the bathroom floor in excruciating pain. On that bathroom floor the peace of God filled my heart. As I laid back down in the bed, I remember thinking I will surely wake up in heaven.  I didn’t... to read more click on the following link: http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/11/why-i-want-god-to-heal-me

Forgiveness and Healing in the Same Package

“But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” – then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed and go to your house.”  (Matthew 9:1-8; Mark 2:3-12; Luke 5:18-26)

“Two for the Price of One” is a good sign you’re going to get a good deal. “Buy One – Get One Free.” That is attractive. It draws people to stop and look. What can I get two things for the price of one? Usually the only deal I get like that is – buy one shoe and get the other one free. Deals are hard to come by, and usually there’s a hitch of some sort. But in the case of the paralyzed man both priceless gifts come without a price. FREE is an even better and more attractive sign.

In this story we have a man getting two priceless gifts – forgiveness for the soul and healing for the body – simply by Jesus giving them to him. They cost him nothing. Jesus paid for everything we get from God. It’s free to us but it cost Him His life and blood. That means that whatever God has is free: it costs us nothing and the only thing we must do to get it is believe. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to God’s treasure-house of gifts. And these are the best treasures in the universe: things like forgiveness, eternal life, deliverance from demonic influences and addictions, peace, joy, hope, love, eternal purpose, and God Himself in your life. These things are indeed priceless... to read more click on the following link: http://www.gracehouseclinton.com/2020/11/forgiveness-and-healing-in-the-same-package

Blaming Someone When a Loved One Dies
What NOT to say when someone you love isn't healed. We believe that God is Sovereign and everything that happens, happens because we believe what God says in Isaiah 55:8-9, “For, My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."
This is one of the weightiest issues for Christians who believes the Lord heals by faith today. It is the ultimate question that must have an answer. And there is no easy answer. But I will try to give some clarity. Here’s how it goes. The Bible teaches that God does everything in our lives through faith, from salvation to healing. No one who knows the Bible can deny that. Many times Jesus said, “According to your faith let it be to you,” and every time He said it He was referring to healing. By grace you have been saved through faith.

Here’s the problem. Someone you love is sick and everybody is praying for him with all the faith they can muster. They are believing with all their heart. But the loved one dies anyway. Then someone comes up to you and says, “If you had more faith your loved one would not have died.” That’s a double whammy. First, your loved one dies and you are in deep mourning. Second, you are being blamed for that loved one’s death.

Your response to all this is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. You will either let it destroy your faith in what the Bible teaches about faith and healing, you will never pray for someone to be healed again. Or you will take it and say, “You know what? I am not perfect at this. I have a lot to learn. Father, would you teach me what I need to know so I can more effectively pray for the sick.”

Don’t form your theology out of your wounds; form it out of what you know of Jesus from the gospels. Paul wrote, “We are bound to thank God because your faith grows exceedingly.” (2Thessalonians1:3)  Ask God to grow your faith and help you do better in praying the prayer of faith. This tragedy could be the very thing God will use to spur us on to larger faith. None of us have yet been conformed to the perfect image of Christ. We are ever learning to be more like Jesus... to read more click on the following link:
