Grace Hills Church

The cross is both the full display of our sin and the greatest revelation of God’s saving power. Jesus willingly became a curse in our place, securing complete forgiveness and removing our sins “as far as the east is from the west.” Ultimately, the cross not only exposes our need, but opens the way to restored fellowship, where Christ now welcomes sinners with love, joy, and grace.

A Spirit-filled church is marked by transformed hearts, heads, and hands. When the Spirit is at work, He produces holistic, Christ-exalting disciples who impact the world around them.

God poured out the Holy Spirit on His people at Pentecost. While some aspects of Pentecost are unrepeatable, the Spirit’s ongoing work of empowering Christians to joyfully and boldly proclaim Jesus is the defining mark of the church today.

At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out on God's people and the mission of the church was launched. The events of Acts 2 show how Pentecost fulfills God’s promises, redeems the human rebellions at Sinai and Babel, and the Holy Spirit empowers every Christian to proclaim the mighty works of God to our neighbors and the nations with great confidence that God will accomplish His saving purposes.

Having the righteousness of Christ by faith means that we have the favor of God. So when the sovereign God brings trials into our lives, He does so out of His favor and love for the sake of doing us good.

Jesus' ascension is His coronation as King, guaranteeing that God is accomplishing His plan, that the Spirit has been given as our Advocate, and that our atonement is fully secured. Because the risen Christ now reigns and intercedes in heaven, we go to the ends of the earth as Spirit-filled witnesses of the ascended, reigning Lord who will return one day soon to dwell with His people forever.

Acts is about the continuing work of the risen Lord Jesus, who by the Holy Spirit advances God’s global mission through His Church. Acts assures us that opposition is not an obstacle but part of God’s plan, as He turns “God-fighters” into “God-lovers” and gathers a people from every nation. As those baptized with the Spirit, we are not only saved but sent— empowered to be Christ’s witnesses in our community and to the ends of the earth.

Seasons of suffering are times when we learn things about God and experience His love in ways we otherwise would not. When circumstances drive us to hopelessness, God compassionately draws near to give us endless reasons to hope in Him.

Isaiah 25 reveals three wonders to ponder when the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us: God draws near to His people, God powerfully saves them, and God will one day make all things new. By lifting our gaze from the waves to the Lord who conquers even death itself, we are called to wait with joy and hope for the sure salvation our faithfully faithful God has planned from long ago.

Fasting is not self-denial for its own sake, but going without lesser things to seek the one necessary thing: God Himself. Ultimately, fasting becomes a hopeful, embodied prayer—crying out for Jesus to return, reign, and make all things new.
