For many Christians, the simple truth of Ephesians 1:3 needs to be heard and believed. “The Blessed God has ALREADY blessed us with every spiritual blessing,” is the message we find in our passage this morning. God does NOT withhold blessing from any of His children, and yet many believers live life begging God for things they already possess. May this message ring loud and true in our ears, and may it dominate our thinking as we live out the life of Christ – as a believer in Jesus Christ, you HAVE ALREADY BEEN blessed! Now, go possess your possessions and enjoy and utilize all of the resources you have IN Jesus Christ!

This morning, we want to look at the larger context of the Book of Ephesians. Who wrote it? Who was it written to? What was happening historically when the book was written? In other words, we want to establish the CONTEXT for the entire Book of Ephesians this morning. We want to consider some overarching truths and themes contained in the book, before we begin a deeper verse by verse dive starting next week. What is this book all about and why should we study it in detail? Tune in this morning to find out…

EPHESIANS:

Do you know who you are? NOT, where you are from? NOT, whose family you are a part of? NOT, what your personality type is? Do you, as a believer, know WHO YOU ARE? The study of the Book of Ephesians will answer that question for you. In short – You are a full-fledged child of God who has been placed IN unchanging union with Jesus Christ. Believers need to HEAR this truth often, BE REMINDED of this truth continually, and the great truths of our position IN Jesus Christ need to dominate our THINKING. This is essential to our ongoing HEALTH as a believer in Jesus Christ. Join us as we continually ask the question: “Are you possessing your possessions?”

Have you ever been at the right place at the right time? Have you ever felt like you stumbled into a situation where you had perfect timing? Simply put, you could not have timed something better than you did?

We are going to look at a story from the Book of Acts this morning where the timing could not have been any better. For both Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch, their meeting was NOT on either one of their schedules or itineraries. Yet, unbeknownst to them, their meeting was in God’s calendar book. Not only was it in God’s calendar book, but He orchestrated the meeting at just the perfect time!

This morning, we finish our series on eternal security looking at 2 objection passages: 1 John 2 and 1 John 3.

“Yeah, but what about…?” This is a very common question that comes up when discussing the topic of eternal security. The idea is that one cannot only emphasize one side of the coin and must teach a balanced approach. If the Word of God teaches eternal security in a host of passages, then why does it seem to teach that you could lose your salvation in other passages? This is the question that we want to try to answer over the course of the next few weeks.

In our pain and suffering, we have a perfect sympathizer who uniquely understands our suffering, because He Himself has suffered intensely out of His great love for us. Jesus is THE sufferer.
