Title: In These Last Days God Has Spoken to Us by His Son

Text: Hebrews 1:1-3

Intro - God communicated in three ways in before Christ – Theophanies, Miracles, and Prophets

Christ fulfills the offices of Prophet, Priest and King.

I. God Spoke to His People Through Prophets (v. 1)

- OT prophets were messengers of God empowered by the Spirit of God for the people of God

- God assigned them to guide, warn, predict, and interpret

- Prophecies demonstrated God’s sovereign rule over history, pointed to the Messiah, and showed His unfailing love to His people.

II. In These Last Days God Has Spoken to Us Through His Son- He is Qualified! (v. 2-3)

- Christ is both Prophet and the Fulfillment of 300 Old Testament prophecies

- Christ is the heir of all things, all Creation was made through Him

- He does not simply deliver God’s Word, He is God’s Word! (Jn 1:1-5)

- Christ Jesus is God- All powerful , all glorious, the only Saviour and soon Coming King!

- What message does God want you to know through the Advent of Jesus?

III. In These Last Days Christ Jesus is God With Us! (Mt. 28:19-20)

- God’s Presence-I am with you always even to the end of the world

- He demonstrates His Power through Miracles and Transformed lives

- Today He speaks as the Faithful and True Witness speaking to the Church by His Spirit

Title: Thanksgiving- In Everything Give Thanks!

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I. Thanksgiving is a Seed and A Harvest Can’t be Separated (Luke 6:37-38)

- Seeds are Planted in Hope, in all kinds of conditions

- Reality-We belong to the Day Not to the Night (v. 8-11)

- Reap if we sow, reap what we sow and reap more than we sow (v. 12-21)

II. CONSTANTLY EXPRESS YOUR JOY (Philippians 4:4 & 5)

- Rejoice in the Lord Always and Again

- Know the Lord is Near and has everything under control

- Let your Graciousness be known to everyone

III. DISPLACE ANXIETY WITH THANKFUL PRAYERS (Philippians 4:6)

- Anxiety and thanksgiving cannot exist in the same space

- Praying with Thanksgiving allows His Presence into our situation

IV. TRAVEL THE ATTITUDE HIGH ROAD (Philippians 4:8)

- Our attitude determines our altitude

V. REAP A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST OF GOD’S PEACE (Philippians 4:7 & 9)

- Remember we are of the Day, not of the night, we have rights as a child of God

- Commit to Practicing sowing seeds of thanksgiving

- The Peace of God will Guard your heart and minds in Christ Jesus
