  • The Zeal of Phinehas
Despite God's favor upon and faithfulness to his people, the Bible is full of stories of their faithlessness towards him - andNumbers 25contains just such a story.
Join us this Sunday as we hear about the sins of the people of God and the heroic, atoning action of one Israelite named Phinehas - and what it can teach us about our own sin and our perfect savior, Jesus.

  • God's Purposes Cannot Be Thwarted
In Numbers 2224, we watch an anxious king hire a pagan prophet to curse Israel, only to discover that no scheme can overturn what God has already blessed. While Israel camps in the valley below and unaware of the threat against them, God turns every attempted curse into a word of protection and promise. Even Balaam, a man pulled by greed and divided loyalties, is compelled to speak truth he cannot control. Through a talking donkey, an angel with a drawn sword, and four unexpected oracles, God shows that his purposes stand firm and his care for his people is stronger than any threat. Join us on Sunday as we revisit the reminder that our security rests not in our performance but in the faithfulness of the One who keeps watch over us.

  • The Cost of Unbelief
Numbers 20 is one of the most sobering chapters in Israels journey, bookended by the deaths of Miriam and Aaron. It reminds us of the real loss that unbelief leaves in its wake. We will also see how the peoples grumbling reveals hearts that have forgotten Gods faithfulness, even after years of his provision. Finally, we will reflect on how unbelief prevents us from enjoying what God intended, as Moses and Aaron themselves experience the painful consequence of misrepresenting the Lord. Yet through it all, God remains faithful, providing water in the wilderness and leading his people forward. Join us as we learn to trust him more deeply and walk in the blessings he desires to give.

  • The Mediator Between God and Man
This Sunday we will look at Numbers 17-19 which show how God provides the very thing His people cannot provide for themselves. In chapter 17, God settles Israels grumbling by revealing the mediator he has chosen, the one through whom life will come. In chapter 18, God establishes the work of that mediator, a calling that protects the people from the danger of his holiness. In chapter 19, God provides cleansing through the means he appoints so that those touched by death can return to His presence. These chapters remind us that we do not approach God on our own terms. We come through the one he chooses, the one who stands for us, the one who cleanses us so that we can come near. Join us on Sunday as we see how all of these themes point us to our Great High Priest, Jesus.

Join us as we consider how we must find all of our remedies in Christ, our great healer!

  • Rebellion Swallowed Up
Once again, we encounter a familiar pattern among Gods peoplerebellion, grumbling, and complaint before a holy God. In Numbers 16, however, the Lord responds in a striking and sobering way to those who rise up against him and against his appointed servant: And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up (Num. 16:32a).
This Sunday, well consider Gods unwavering stance toward defiance, as well as his ultimate victory over sin, the devil, and all who oppose the God of light and life. Join us as we reflect on both the seriousness of rebellion and the certainty of Gods triumph!

  • The Rhythms and Reminders of Grace
This Sunday we turn again to Numbers 15, the chapter that follows Israels refusal to enter the Promised Land. Because of their rebellion, God declared that the adults would not enter. Yet the very next words God speaks are filled with grace. He says, When you come into the land which I am giving you. Even after their rebellion, God still promises to give the land to His people. What amazing grace. Numbers 15 gives instructions for the next generation to offer sacrifices when they live in the land. These practices establish the regular rhythms that shape the identity of Gods people. Join us on Sunday as we look at these rhythms and consider how God calls us to remember His grace in our own lives.

  • Look and Live
With this Sunday being Easter Sunday, we will step ahead briefly in our sermon series to Numbers 21. Well return in the coming weeks to chapters 1520, but for now we want to focus on one of the most surprising moments in Israels wilderness journey. InNumbers 21:1-9the people look at Gods daily mercy and call it worthless, revealing a deep disdain for the God who provides. Their rebellion brings real judgment, yet the Lord meets them with an unexpected way of deliverance. Moses lifted up abronze serpent andoffered healing to anyone willing to look in faith. Jesus takes that very image and applies it to Himself in John 3, showing that He is the true and final One lifted up for our salvation. The invitation is as simple and as urgent as it was in the wilderness. Look to Jesus and live. Join us this Easter as we celebrate the resurrection and the life offered to all who trust in Him.

  • Punishment and a Plea
Last week in Numbers 14:12 we saw that God tells Moses he willdisinherit his people because of their unwillingness to go into the land he had promised to them. What a tragedy! Seemingly, Its the end of Gods plan through Israel. However, one stands in the gap and pleads on Israels behalf for forgiveness. This is Israels only hope, and ours as well. Join us this Sunday as we study Numbers 14:13-45 and discover not only the need for someone to mediate for us, but the reality that someone greater than Moses indeed has!

  • Walk by Faith, Not by Sight
When you look at difficulty, what do you see? Do you see only the hurdles in front of you, or do you see a situation that God Himself is leading you into? Do your thoughts rush toward all the ways this might fall apart, or do you pause to remember the character and love of God as you face what lies ahead? Most of us drift toward fear and anxiety when challenges arise, just like the people of Israel in Numbers 13:114:12. Yet Scripture calls us to live by faith, believing that God is true to His word and cares for us in the midst of every uncertainty. Join us this Sunday as we explore the nature of fear in our lives and how the truth of Gods word leads us to walk by faith.
