For the first episode of the Graphic Novel Explorers Club, we are discussing The Killing Joke, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Brian Bolland.
In this episode we discuss the history of Barbara Gordon becoming Batgirl, becoming Oracle, to becoming Batgirl again; how Alan Moore used the previous origin of The Joker to write the new origin of The Joker; Frances’s love of Katie Holmes; will Batman/Bruce Wayne ever be allowed to grow up; a theory that maybe The Joker isn’t as good in bed as we hope; the sexual assault of Barbara Gordon by The Joker; did The Killing Joke use the Woman in the Fridge trope, and if Batman finally broke it off with The Joker.
