Finding friends in retirement can be difficult.  Retirement can be a lonely time if you are not prepared.  You think that you won’t miss your work friends, why would you?  You didn’t spend time with them out of work.  What you don’t realize is that even though you didn’t spend time with them after work, you did share work experiences with them.  You shared your life events, your good times, sometimes your bad times, and they shared with you.  And even if you’re not best friends, you spend 40 hours a week with them.  And now, you aren’t around them at all.  That creates an emptiness that you should prepare to fill.  At first you may be thankful not to be around them, but it does create an empty space.
